No less than seven new variants have arrived in our market.

For younger generations of Mini fans, the marque underwent a renaissance after it was taken under German automaker BMW’s wing, with the first model under new management rolling out in 2001. Two decades later, Mini Philippines is proud to unveil a refreshed lineup for the 3-door, 5-door, and convertible models, including the John Cooper Works performance-oriented variants.

Mini Philippines brings in the refreshed lineup of 3-door, 5-door, and convertible variants

“With the current model revision, the Mini has reached a level of maturity that makes it more exceptional in the small car segment with regard to design, product substance, and premium quality than ever before,” said Mini Brand Head Bernd Körber. “The Mini is the original that stands out from the crowd and it continues to reinvent itself again and again.”

Autohub Group President Willy Tee Ten agrees. “Today, Mini is kicking things up a notch in the Philippines with its biggest launch to date. With 7 new variants across the range, there is a Mini for everyone. These cars are premium, urban, and thrillingly playful. No matter which version you choose, you will see a great leap in modern design, technology, and pure Mini-ness while staying true to its iconic, classic go-kart design.”

Exterior

Among the most obvious revisions to the Mini range is the revised fascia, comprising a continuous hexagon shape formed by the upsized grille. The headlamp housings are now rendered in black, while the foglamps have been omitted in favor of air vents at the corners for aerodynamics. Additional intakes above the airdam on the John Cooper Works variants improve engine cooling.

Side slits take the place of fog lamps on the revised fascia

On the profile, the side scuttles now feature LED technology. Standard models reflect the hexagonal shape for the rear surround, featuring a single tailpipe on Cooper variants and dual exhaust tips on the Cooper S versions. Rear LED lights feature the Union Jack motif, with the narrow rear fog lamp unit integrated into the rear apron.

Union Jack LED lamps make the rear more eye-catching

The convertible variant’s unique fully electric soft top has a front section that can be retracted by up to 40 centimeters, providing a sunroof function that works at any speed. Five new variants for the 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels are available across the range, including a Scissor Spoke design that was previously exclusive to the Mini Convertible Sidewalk Edition.

Interior

The cabin on the new Mini range has been streamlined to look more sophisticated while improving ease of use, with chrome elements significantly toned down. Black panels surround the outer air vents, while the inner vents are now completely redesigned to lie flush with the dashboard.

The streamlined interior complements the Mini John Cooper Works' sporty character

A new leather sports steering wheel features newly designed multifunction switches. Dashboard controls are rendered in Piano Black, with a new keypad structure to optimize various functions such as communications, voice control, cruise control, and speed limiter.

Tech & Safety

A 5-inch multifunction instrument panel is now fitted as standard across the range, first seen on the Mini John Cooper Works GP. It displays standard driving information as well as the status of the car’s various driver-assistance systems, complemented by the Mini Head Up display which projects the screen contents on the windshield.

There's still ample room for luggage behind the rear seats

The central instrument panel has been redesigned with an 8.8-inch touch display, powered by a new operating system and surrounded by a laser-engraved LED ring. Depending on selected driving modes, the interface can show either a relaxing blue hue during sedate journeys or glow red with more spirited driving. Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless charging are now standard.

The refreshed Mini range comes with a new lane departure warning system

For the first time, the Mini Driving Assistant Package is available on the 3-door, 5-door, and convertible models. A camera-based system recognizes and reports speed limits to the driver. Collision warning and pedestrian warning systems with city braking function make it easier to avoid accidents in urban scenarios. A new lane departure warning system helps drivers stay on course at speed of up to 210 km/h.

Engine & Drivetrain

The new Mini range retains the available power plants, with a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder base engine capable of 132 horsepower and 220 Nm of torque. A bigger 2.0-liter engine churns out 192 horsepower and 280 Nm of twist, while a similarly sized mill with BMW TwinPower technology kicks up 231 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox and 7-speed sport dual-clutch transmission, as well as an 8-speed sport automatic.
