The Jeep Compass 2023 is a compact crossover that is currently in its second-generation form. It is available in the Philippines with one variant only which is priced at Php 1,480,000. Powering this vehicle is a 1.4-liter MultiAir turbocharged engine that is capable of generating 162 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. A 7-speed dry dual-clutch transmission sends power from the engine to the front wheels only.

Dimensions-wise, the Compass measures 4,394 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, and 1,646 mm in height. In the local market, this American compact crossover competes against the likes of the Toyota RAV4, Ford Territory, and Chery Tiggo 7 Pro.

Launch

The vehicle’s first production version was unveiled in the 2006 North American International Show. As it was built for first time Jeep buyers who prefer to drive it on established roads, it didn't carry the “Trail Rated” badge normally attached to the company’s SUV lineup from 2007 to 2010.

In 2011, it was redesigned based on one of the company’s most successful models, the Grand Cherokee. Its interior and suspension were upgraded. A pleasing package was also offered to buyers who opt for a mightier automobile complete with skid plates, 17-inch aluminum wheels, a lengthened ground clearance, and a four-wheel-drive system.

Its second generation was unveiled in the 2016 Los Angeles International Auto Show and was offered in four trim levels. A year after, it was launched globally including the Philippines.

The all-new Jeep Compass measures 4,395mm long, 1,820mm wide, and 1,640 tall. Its front flaunts the company’s signature seven-slot dark grille with chrome highlights, a pair of contemporary Bi-function halogen projector headlamps, LED daytime running headlights, fog lamps, and an efficient air intake vent.

Its robust and intimidating body is softened with the perfect balance of character lines and curves. Its top is designed with sturdy roof rails and can be customized to a black painted roof.
Its back displays a pair of sleek and modern LED taillights and remote rear reflex lights. Supporting this brawny SUV is a set of durable 17-inch aluminum wheels.

Inside expect a premium and spacious cabin that can comfortably accommodate five fully grown passengers.

Drivers will enjoy the heated front seat, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and the advanced multi-view instrument cluster.

Other exciting features include a 115-volt auxiliary power outlet, ambient LED lighting, and an air condition system with dual-zone control. The seats are molded and covered in dark slate grey. The 60/40 rear seats can be adjusted to provide more space for cargo.

It comes with a seven-inch infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity. It also comes with AM/FM radio, Apple CarPlay, a navigation system, voice recognition function, and hands-free calling.

Safety is assured as it is built with brake stability control, hill start assist, electronic roll mitigation, back up rear camera, and plenty of airbags in the front, sides, and rear.

This front-wheel-drive vehicle is manufactured using the GM Fiat Small platform. Also, the vehicle’s body is made using high-strength steel combined with other materials to create a protective wrap around the riders.
