The MG ZS is a subcompact crossover meticulously designed to stand out anywhere. It is well designed, chiseled, and is built with a fleet of safety features. Locally, the new MG ZS is offered in four variants: the MG ZS 1.5 Style MT, the MG ZS 1.5 Style AT, the MG ZS 1.5 Style Plus AT, and the MG ZS 1.5 Alpha AT. You may choose from neutral colors such as Silver Metallic, Arctic Knight, and Black Knight. Marina Blue and Scarlet Red are also available for those who want to brighten up the road.
Morris Garage, or simply MG, introduced the MG ZS in October 2018. It was also the car company’s local relaunch under a new distributor, The Covenant Car Company Incorporated (TCCI).
Most might think that MG is a new player in the car industry but they have been releasing innovative models since 1924. The company, once known as the MG Car Company Limited, is presently owned by Nanjing Automobile Group since 2005. The said company supplies quality vehicles in China, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Chile, and Australia.
The model that solidified MG PH's position in the local crossover market segment
Although fairly priced compared to its competitors, the new MG ZS looks premium. At the front, it is designed with a set of fiercely shaped halogen headlights and a powerful looking, wide grill embellished with the MG badge. Its body is covered with attractive design lines. Higher variants are built with a rear roof spoiler.
The MG ZS measures 4,314 mm long, 1,809 mm wide, and is 1,648 mm tall. The size of its wheels differs per variant. The MG ZS Style MT is fitted with 16-inch wheels while the ZS Style AT comes with 17-inch wheels. On the other hand, the MG ZS Alpha is equipped with 16-inch wheels and comes in a two-tone design.
Upon entering the MG ZS, one of the most noticeable features is the panoramic sunroof, not commonly found in other crossovers today and it adds a premium vibe inside. It is also efficient as it provides additional lighting to its roomy cabin.
The theme inside is black with carbon fiber print highlights on its dashboard. The controls and buttons are well designed and easy to reach. The flat-bottom steering wheel is wrapped in leather, while the MG ZS 1.5 Alpha AT comes with an audio remote and controls for the infotainment system. The seats are covered with fabric, while higher variants are fitted with black leather. The rear seats can be folded that provides extra space for big cargoes.
Technology & Safety Features
An eight-inch touchscreen LCD interface equipped with Apple Carplay provides entertainment inside the MG ZS. It offers Bluetooth and AUX connectivity.
As for comfort and safety, the car is built with a heater, automatic climate control, power windows, and accessory power sockets. All variants of the MG ZS are equipped with reminders for the seatbelt, airbags, electronic brake distribution, child locks, ISOFIX child seat mounting points, and cornering brake control.

Powering this subcompact crossover is a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 118 hp and a torque of 150 Nm. The MG ZS comes in either a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic transmission.
