The 2023 BMW X1 is a 5-seater subcompact luxury crossover that is regarded as the brand's best-selling X model. It is available in the Philippines in one variant which is priced at Php 3,190,000. Powering this vehicle is a 2.0-liter BMW TwinTurbo inline-4 diesel engine good for 150 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. As standard, the engine is paired with 8-speed automatic transmission with Steptronic (manual mode).

Dimensions-wise, the X1 spans 4.447 mm long, 1,821 mm wide, and 1,598 mm high. Locally, this German subcompact luxury crossover goes up against the likes of the Lexus UX, Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class, and Audi Q3.

Launch

The first-generation BMW X1 Series was introduced in 2009. Years later, it finally received a facelift which was launched to the Philippine market in 2018.

The BMW X1 2023 boasts of a powerfully defined silhouette which has been redesigned to suit the competitive compact crossover segment’s specific demands for a luxury SAV. Dominating the front fascia is BMW’s signature aluminum kidney grille and a bold bumper rimmed with vertical slats and chrome accents. Adding to its sleek aesthetic are narrow Adaptive LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, and LED fog lights. It rides on 18-inch light alloy wheels, completing the athletic yet premium look.

Much like the rest of BMW’s lineup, the X1 Philippines comes with an ergonomic layout that displays the brand’s thoughtfulness when it comes to elegance and versatility. The spacious cabin is quite similar to how the 1-Series sedans are furnished in terms of the quality of materials and the comfort of its features. Its instrument cluster is equipped with Black Panel technology making it easy to view the gauges in a stylized manner. Seats are wrapped in a cross-track combination of premium fabric and authentic leather. Completing the ambiance is the BMW X1 LED projection lights package.

Technology & Safety Features

The BMW X1 comes with a straightforward, no fuss 6.5-inches Control Display infotainment system. Its highly intuitive system makes it convenient to go hands-free through Bluetooth connectivity. The display is also attached to the BMW Connected Drive system that provides navigation, concierge services, and a range of driver controls for the rear power liftgate, the heads-up display, and the rear-view camera.

Standard safety and convenience features furnished in the X1 are rear parking sensors, cruise control, Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) with Cornering Brake Control and Dynamic Traction Control, Dynamic Stability Control, front and rear Park Distance Control (PDC), and run-flat tires.

BMW X1 Platform & Chassis

The 5-door, 5-seater crossover is equipped with Adaptive Suspension at both the front and rear. Stopping power comes from Ventilated Discs all around.

Under the hood of the BMW X1 xDrive20d xLine variant is a BMW 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo, in-line 4-cylinder Diesel engine that produces 150 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. It is mated to an 8-speed Automatic Transmission that sends power to all wheels. Compared to previous generation, the recalibrated transmission provides better ride comfort and handling.
