The Mazda 2 is the smallest sedan in Mazda Philippines’ model lineup. This subcompact sedan features Mazda’s newest version of the Kodo design language. Its rounded edges and lines around the body follow suit with the brand’s larger models. The exterior of the new Mazda2 Sedan features sleek design details, which gives it a distinctive and athletic look. The five-seater subcompact sedan is equipped with Mazda’s latest technology that includes a touchscreen infotainment system, active driving display, automatic climate control, and the G-Vectoring Control Plus. Under the hood, the new Mazda 2 is powered by a 1.5L SkyActiv-G 16-valve gasoline engine mated to a 6-Speed Automatic with Sport Mode. Only one variant of the nameplate is offered in the Philippines, which is the Mazda 2 1.5 SkyActiv-G Elite AT. It is available in the following colors: Snowflake White Pearl, Soul Red Crystal, Jet Black, Titanium Flash, and Eternal Blue.
The Mazda 2 Sedan was first introduced globally in 1996. It was marketed in the Philippines together with the brand’s arrival in 2012. In December 2019, Mazda Philippines launched the facelifted Mazda 2 that features the car brand’s latest Kodo design language. The new Mazda 2 Sedan is currently sold in the local market that comes with a sticker price of Php 995,000.
The new Mazda 2 is one of the subcompact sedans in the Philippines that come with a distinct exterior design. It follows the brand’s revamped Kodo design language, similar to other vehicles in Mazda’s lineup. The Mazda 2 is fitted with a prominent grille flanked by glaring LED headlights as well as LED daytime running lamps. It also has smooth character lines as well as a sloping roofline, which gives the Mazda 2 Sedan a seamless lok. The rear is decked with narrow taillights that accentuate the vehicle’s shape. The Mazda 2 comes with an array of technology and safety features. For starters, it is furnished with a 7-inch MZD Connect infotainment system that is capable of connectivity through Bluetooth and USB. It also has smartphone mirroring capabilities that make it easier for the driver to use the system for navigation or taking calls. The audio comes out of a 6-Speaker system.
In terms of safety, Mazda equipped this subcompact sedan with rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, Anti-Locking Braking (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) as standard. For added convenience and security, the Mazda 2 comes with a smart keyless entry system matched with a push start button.

The Mazda 2 comes with a McPherson Strut front suspension setup while the rear gets a torsion beam axle. The subcompact sedan’s stopping power comes from ventilated discs in front and solid discs at the rear.

Under the hood of the Mazda 2 is a 1.5L SkyActiv-G 16-valve gasoline engine mated to a 6-Speed Automatic with Sport Mode. The said engine delivers 109 hp and 141 Nm of torque. It comes with a front-wheel-drive layout.
