Launch
On September 21, 2018, the latest generation of Ford Ranger was launched in the Philippines. It refreshed the national lineup of the pickup vehicle and added the first-ever Ford Ranger Raptor. The current Ford Ranger arrived with a new fascia and a new set of powertrains to substitute the WIldtrak's variants' 3.2-liter DURA TORQ. The new engine is either the 2.0-liter single turbo trim or the bi-turbo diesel with a 10-speed automatic transmission while keeping the 2.2-liter DURATORQ option for lower variants.
On January 23, 2020, the Ford Ranger acquired updates in its safety features as well as the infotainment system. The Ford Ranger has a total of 13 variants now due to the comeback of the Ford Ranger FX4 and the addition of the Ford Ranger XLS Sport 4x2 variant.
Exterior
The Ford Ranger is popular for its wide stance and beefy exterior. The vehicle's ground clearance that measures 232 mm gives it the capability to pass through 800 mm water deep and exudes an authoritative driving feel. On the other hand, the Ford Ranger's topnotch trims come with HID headlights that go with LED daytime running lights. The American pickup truck's lightning setup enables it to stand out even at night.
Moreover, the Ford Ranger is available in different colors: Cool White, Arctic White, Absolute Black, Meteor Gray, Aluminum Metallic, Diffused Silver, Blue Reflex, True Red, Sunset Red, and Saber.
Interior
In the Philippines, the Ford Ranger is equipped with a spacious cabin - the biggest in its class and a comfortable riding experience. Also, its NVH insulation has improved compared to before. Depending on the variant, the pickup truck is offered in either 4x4 configuration or rear-wheel drivetrain.
Excluding the Ford Ranger Raptor, the Ranger lineup comes with a double-wishbone with coil springs front and leaf spring rear suspension setup. Furthermore, ventilated discs are used in the front brakes while drums are utilized at the back.
The Ford Ranger is a 5-seater pickup truck. It has a length of 5354 mm, a width that measures 1860 mm, a wheelbase that measures 3220 mm, and a 232 mm of ground clearance.
