The BMW X7 was first released in March 2019 to dealerships worldwide. Shortly after, the BMW X7 xDrive30d Pure Excellence variant arrived in the Philippines in July 2019.
The X7 is currently the largest vehicle in BMW’s lineup. It follows the German brand’s most updated design language, boasting of a muscular exterior with chrome trims that elevate the vehicle’s aesthetic. Up front is the signature kidney grille finished in chrome and flanked by sleek LED headlamps pulled to each side. Contour lines and Laserlight technology on both sides lead to the rear that sports dual exhausts and LED tail lamps. Completing the look are 21-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels that come as standard.
Locally, the X7 is offered in seven color variations which are Black Sapphire, Alpine White, Sunstone Metallic, Mineral White, Arctic Grey and Vermont Bronze Metallic.
Extending to the expansive interior of the X7 is the precise and detailed design philosophy that BMW is known for. Its roominess and versatility is complemented with luxurious touches that elevate the ride experience. The straightforward interior is wrapped in premium Merino leather upholstery and accentuated by chrome. Seats are equipped with power adjustability for added comfort.
The premium SUV features a five-zone climate control system and state-of-the-art ambient lighting that create a comfortable and luxurious feel of the cabin. A panoramic sunroof provides natural lighting that brightens up the neutral palleted interior. It also comes with a spacious 326 liters trunk capacity with a power liftgate.
Technology & Safety
On the dashboard of the BMW X7 is a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system that provides access to the BMW iDrive and ConnectedDrive technologies. These programs enable connectivity through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, driver assistance systems for navigation and safety, as well as online concierge services. Audio comes out of a Harman Kardon Surround Sound System.
The X7 is equipped with a wide range of safety features that come as standard. Among the basics are Electronic Brake Distribution, Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Lane Departure Warning System, Blind-Spot Detection System, Stability Control, Cruise Control, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, Push Start Button, Keyless Entry, Active Park Assist, and Hill Start Assist.
Platform & Chassis
The 5-door 7-seater SUV rides on a two-axle air suspension with automatic self-levelling that comes as standard. Suspension remains at double-wishbone in front and multi-link at the rear, while stopping power comes from front Ventilated Discs complemented by rear Discs.
Engine & Drivetrain
Under the hood of the BMW X7 xDrive30d Pure Excellence variant is a 3.0L TwinPower turbo inline-6 diesel engine that produces 265 hp and a staggering 620 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic Steptronic Sport transmission that sends power to all wheels through the BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system.
