The model features a refreshed design and updated tech.

Launched in 2019, the Geely Coolray has since been followed by three other models in Geely Philippines’ lineup. But the automaker continues to capitalize extensively on its maiden offering, with the latest version making an appearance at this year’s Manila International Auto Show.

The refreshed Geely Coolray will be making its first appearance outside China at the 2022 MIAS

The Coolray for the 2022 model year brings a facelifted exterior, ditching the familiar Expanding Cosmos grille for a honeycomb pattern. An X-shaped section on the front bumper is now rendered in gray that somewhat gives the fascia a 3D look, while the exterior lights now feature a new welcome sequence during unlocking.

Rear lamps surrounding the tailgate have also been revised, floating over quad exhaust tips on the rear bumper. The restyled integrated spoiler sits at the trailing edge of the roofline, featuring a carbon fiber finish. A selection of silver 5-spoke and blacked-out alloy wheels is offered, concealing a set of red brake calipers.

It features an X-shaped element on the fascia also seen on the Coolray PHEV

Inside, up to five occupants can bask under a full panoramic sunroof surrounded by a two-tone interior palette and brushed aluminum surfaces. A 72-color ambient lighting system enhances the ambience in low-light conditions, and it can match the selected driving mode or music being played. The 10.25-inch touchscreen head unit has been upgraded to 12.3 inches, although it will still run on Geely’s proprietary Smart Ecosystem operating system.

Regarding propulsion, the facelifted Geely Coolray will still be powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder gasoline engine rated at 177 horsepower and 255 Nm of torque. For the Chinese market, the front wheels are spun by either a 5-speed manual, 4-speed automatic, or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, the latter now actuated by a redesigned shift lever on the center console.

The interior features a bigger touchscreen head unit and redesigned shifter, among other improvements

This is the first time that the facelifted Geely Coolray has been released outside of China. Pricing and other details will be made available at the model’s official market launch scheduled few months from now, but at least you’ll be able to see it in the metal at the MIAS 2022 on April 7 to 10.
