A power tailgate is now included, among others.

Needless to say, the Geely Coolray has been stepping its game in the local market as it is regarded as one of the best-selling models in its class. Despite its success, Geely Philippines is still searching for different ways to further enhance what its subcompact crossover entry can offer to Filipino car buyers.

With that in mind, the 2022 Geely Coolray Sport Limited is introduced into the range. It is the new top-of-the-line variant of the model that comes with more features than it already has. Considering that the Geely Coolray is known for its loaded features, the new Sport Limited variant should level up the Coolray’s game.

Not a lot of changes have been made on the exterior as Geely Philippines aims to keep the Coolray’s sporty and futuristic appeal. It still gets that Expanding Cosmos Grille with a red accent for an added sporty finish. Other sporty touches on the subcompact crossover include its rear spoiler and quad exhaust setup.

What’s new on the exterior is the variant-exclusive 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels which complement the black claddings around the vehicle. The black claddings can be found on the front and rear lower bumper, side sills, and wheel arches. To provide a sportier look, the new black wheels are contrasted by the red brake calipers.

Moving to the interior, the Geely Coolray Sport Limited still comes with the same jet-inspired cabin layout that creates a premium feel. The Chinese automaker is taking the premium cabin feel one step further by adding ventilated front seats, a feature that can be handy especially during summertime. Its remote start function is also available in the Sport Limited variant.

A significant addition in the Sport Limited variant

Another new exclusive feature in the new top-of-the-line variant is the integration of a power tailgate. It automatically opens and closes the tailgate or the fifth door of the vehicle with a touch of a button. With this, loading items into the subcompact crossover’s cargo area is more convenient than before.

Under the hood, the 1.5-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine is still used by the Sport Limited variant. This engine is capable of generating 177 hp and 255 Nm of torque. As for the transmission, the new variant offers a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, sending power to the front wheels.
