Geely Philippines has been a strong contender in the subcompact crossover segment due to the Coolray. Since its launch in 2019, the Coolray was able to storm the local market that helped Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP), the official distributor of Geely vehicles in the country, to have a foothold in the market.
Geely Coolray new color options
To keep its momentum in the market, Geely PH hinted earlier this month that it will be bringing in new exterior colors for the Coolray. Now, the car brand has officially announced that its five-seater subcompact crossover is available with two new exterior color options.
One of the new color options is Sunburst Gold, which is exclusively available for the new top-spec Coolray Sport Limited variant that was launched last October 2021. It is fitted with 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels that are contrasted by red brake calipers. The Geely Coolray Sport Limited also gets ventilated front seats, and a power tailgate with a height memory function. It is priced at Php 1,218,000.
The other new color option is Cloud Blue that is available for the Comfort, and Premium trims. To put things in perspective, Cloud Blue is the pastel version of the Blue exterior paint that was originally available for the said two trims. The Coolray Comfort is the entry-level variant that’s priced at Php 978,000 while the Premium mid-spec trim has a price tag of Php 1,088,000.
Geely PH aims to keep the Coolray’s popularity in the market through the new exterior colors. The car brand shared that it was able to roll out 2,690 brand-new Coolray units as of November 2021. This allowed the Coolray to have a 35 percent market share in the subcompact crossover segment, according to Geely PH.
“The Coolray remains to be the most in demand model in the Geely lineup and a top-seller in its segment. With the recent introduction of the Coolray Sport Limited, we are further enhancing its appeal by adding new exterior colors,” SGAP President & CEO Yosuke Nishi said.
“The additional features and color options we recently introduced for the Coolray is our way of telling everyone that we will never stop improving and bringing fun back in driving,” Nishi added.

All Geely Coolray variants are equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that puts out 177 hp and 255 Nm of torque. The engine is connected to a 7-speed wet type dual-clutch transmission.

Geely Coolray Launch
Launched in September 2019, the Geely Coolray was introduced with three variants: the Comfort Turbo, the Premium Turbo, and the Sport Turbo. In 2022, Geely Philippines axed the Sport variant.
A special edition version was available for a time. But when the marque updated the model into the Coolray for 2025, the SE variants including the SE Sport trim made a return.
Geely Coolray Exterior
Depending on the variant, the Coolray is equipped with a power liftgate, LED lighting, power-folding side mirrors, and a sporty-looking roof-mounted spoiler. Other trims come standard with halogen lighting, projector halogen headlamps, and a manual liftgate. All come kitted out with LED daytime running lights.
The top-spec SE Sport and the mid-spec SE Premium then ride on a set of 18-inch alloy wheels. The entry-level SE Comfort meanwhile gets a smaller 17-inch set.
Geely Coolray Interior
Step inside the Coolray and you’ll find a cabin that can comfortably accommodate five occupants. It also has a default cargo volume of 330 liters.
On the top-spec SE Sport model, it gets power-adjustable seating, a leather steering wheel, and a single-zone automatic air-conditioning system. Standard on all variants is a 60:40 split folding rear seat.
Technology & Safety Features
Handling the entertainment needs of the Coolray's occupants is a 10.25-inch touchscreen headunit. For connectivity, it uses QD Link. The said touchscreen is then connected to a six-piece speaker system.
Available as standard to the Coolray is an array of safety features. These include anti-lock braking, traction control, stability control, and hill-descent control. The higher-spec models add on to those with a reverse and blind spot monitor, while the top-spec SE Sport gets a 360-degree view monitor.
Both the SE Premium and SE Sport also come with Smart Keyless Entry and tire pressure monitoring. Only the SE Sport comes with an active park assist system.
Standard on all Coolray variants are dual front airbags. The SE Premium and SE Sport meanwhile get additional side airbags, while only the SE Sport comes with curtain airbags.
Geely Coolray Platform & Chassis
The 2024 Geely Coolray uses the Geely B-Segment Modular Architecture Platform which it shares with the Emgrand sedan, and other cars sold by Geely and its subsidiaries worldwide.
For suspensions, it uses a MacPherson strut for the front and a torsion beam suspension for the rear. Braking is then handled by a ventilated front disc brake and a solid rear disc brake. All trims also come with an electronic parking brake with an auto-hold function.
Engine & Drivetrain
The 2025 Geely Coolray uses a 1.5-liter inline-3 turbocharged gasoline engine paired with a seven-speed wet-type dual-clutch gearbox. At maximum, it can produce up to 177 horsepower and 255Nm of torque.
