Geely Philippines announced that it has reached its 10,000th sales milestone in its two years and eight months of competing in the local market.
Geely Emgrand subcompact sedan
Part of the milestone is the leadership of outgoing Geely Philippines President and CEO Yosuke Nishi who expanded the network of the brand amid the challenges of the pandemic. The company managed to finish 10th in the 2021 sales ranking with its 3-car lineup. It consists of the Coolray, Azkarra, and Okavango.
“The 10,000th sales milestone for Geely Philippines in a short span of time amid the pandemic is indicative of the trust and confidence that we gained from all our customers. Something that we didn’t expect and are really grateful for,” said Mr. Yosuke Nishi.
Geely Coolray facelift
For 2022, the sky’s the limit for the Chinese marque now that the Geely Emgrand has made its way to the local lineup. It is being offered in the market where the long-time best-selling model in the country competes in. With the subcompact sedan’s competitive features and relatively affordable pricing, more customers are expected to join the Geely brand.
In addition, the facelifted Geely Coolray was recently previewed at the 2022 Manila International Auto Show. It will go hand-in-hand with other local Geely models in further improving the brand’s sales. By 2025, the company aims to become of the top passenger car brands in the country.
Mr. Yugo Kyofuji
Leading the charge is new Geely Philippines President and CEO Yugo Kiyofuji who comes in with his 20 years of experience in the automotive industry. He will also be working to accomplish the company’s objective of establishing a 40-strong dealership network by the end of 2022.
“Our objective now is to take SGAP to the next level and become one of the top passenger automotive brands in 2025. We will do this by further strengthening our dealer network, as well as providing the value-added service to the customers,” said Mr. Yugo Kiyofuji.
