The fourth-gen Geely Emgrand made its debut in May 2021. Geely Philippines then officially launched the said model online on February 25, 2022.
Style-wise, the Geely Emgrand, assumes a sleek and dignified exterior. It isn’t leaning towards sportiness, but it won’t look out of place when parked beside executive sedan models.
Size-wise, the Philippine-spec Emgrand has a length of 4,638mm, a width of 1,822mm, and a height of 1,460mm. It also has a wheelbase length of 2,650mm, as well as a ground clearance of 122mm.
For on-board entertainment, the Emgrand comes standard with an eight-inch touchscreen headunit with smartphone mirroring software. The Emgrand Premium then gets six speakers, while the Comfort trim gets four speakers.
Safety-wise, the top-spec Premium variant comes with front airbags, front side airbags, and side curtain airbags. Both the Comfort and the Premium trims are equipped with anti-lock braking, traction, and stability control, hill-start assist, cruise control, parking sensors, and a rear parking camera.
All trims also come with a tire pressure monitoring system, speed-sensing door locks, and an engine immobilizer.
Like other subcompact sedans in the Philippines, the Emgrand is able to seat up to five. The top-spec Premium then has a digital gauge cluster, a sunroof, leatherette and suede seats, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and an electronic air-conditioning system.
The local version also comes with a flat-bottom steering wheel, plenty of soft-touch surfaces, and a roomy rear cabin.
The Geely Emgrand is based on Geely’s B-segment Modular Architecture. It shares this platform with the Geely Coolray, and many other Geely products.
Like other subcompact sedans in the Philippines, the Emgrand assumes a front-engine, front-wheel-drive model. For suspensions, it uses a MacPherson strut for the front and a torsion beam for the rear. Braking is then handled by disc brakes for all four wheels.
Both the Comfort and the Premium Emgrand trims also come with an electronic parking brake with an auto brake hold function.
For engines, the Geely Emgrand will use a 1.5-liter inline-4 gasoline engine. It can make up to 102 horsepower and 142 Nm of torque. It is then paired with a CVT.
