The prototype model of the next-gen 2022 Civic has been virtually revealed by Honda. At first glance, you’ll instantly notice that the 11th-generation Civic prototype comes with sleek and mature styling. It veered away from the aggressive exterior styling seen on the 10th-gen model. As such, it seems that Honda is giving us a hint that the Civic is now coming to maturity and ready to take a step forward.
The Honda Civic is all grown up
The prototype model you’re seeing now could most likely be the final production version of the 2022 Civic. At launch, the Japanese automaker said that the all-new Honda Civic lineup will be launched in the second quarter of 2021.
Depending on the market, Honda will launch the Civic Sedan followed by the Civic Hatchback, the Civic Si, and the Civic Type R.
Exterior
The 2022 Honda Civic comes with a low, sporty stance along with sharp character lines and a more composed design concept. The front end of the 11th-generation model prototype comes with a confident demeanor that’s highlighted by the sweptback headlights, mesh grille, and angular bumper.

The black C-shaped trim on the bumper definitely gives the Civic extra style points. In comparison to the 10th-gen model, the Civic prototype’s front end design comes with a more subtle look yet it comes with a more well put concept.
The Civic comes with neat character lines
The commanding presence of the Honda Civic can also be seen at its side profile. It comes with a low beltline as well as a sharp character line that runs from the front fender to the taillights. The 2022 Civic prototype is also fitted with blacked-out wheels that come with a rather simple design.
But that’s not a problem since it complemented the overall styling of the Civic. It even looks good with the prototype’s exterior color dubbed Solar Flare Pearl. Another thing worth noting is that Honda designers relocated the Civic’s side mirrors and placed them to the door. This was made in order to give the driver a clearer view.

Similar to its front end, the rear of the 11th-gen Civic prototype comes with a toned-down look. There are no traces of the sharp and aggressive rear styling of the 10th-gen model to the shown prototype. Instead, Honda’s compact sedan is fitted with large blacked-out taillights that come with an L-shape cluster, which is sort of like an oversized version of the one fitted on the Lexus ES.
Moreover, the 2022 Civic prototype comes with a trunk-lid spoiler, dual exhaust pipes, and a shark fin antenna. The bumper, on the other hand, is also integrated with reflector lights.
