Nissan Thailand is slowly getting back on track.

Nissan announced that its production will recommence at its Plant 1 and Plant 2 in Samut Prakan, Thailand. Adjustments will also be made at associated operations, including engine assembly and stamping.

The plant in Samut Prakan is where Nissan cars like the Navarra and Terra are assembled, which are then set to be imported here in the Philippines and most Southeast Asian countries.

Nissan will limit the number of employees at all facilities to maintain social distancing. While some employees are placed under work from home policy as a part of the wider effort to contain or limit the spread of the COVID-19.

Nissan will continue to prioritize everyone’s safety while following all guidance from the Thai authorities.

“Our goal is to resume normal business operations as soon as possible in a phased approach, but ensuring the safety and well-being of all our employees, their families, and Thai society is our priority right now given the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Ramesh Narasimhan, president of Nissan Thailand.

In order to keep a safe operation, Nissan Thailand is implementing several preventive measures to avoid the COVID-19 from spreading such as disinfecting its premises every 30 minutes.

The company will also conduct a temperature check for both the employees and customers as they enter the dealership. It will also provide alcohol gels stationed throughout the dealership premises, and disinfecting key vehicle touch points like the steering wheel, gear shift, seats, door handles, and front console panels consistently.
