Maxus Philippines is determined to establish its foothold in the automotive market as it introduced a new model to its lineup. The G50 is Maxus PH’s latest addition to its range of light commercial vehicles, and it’s set to go up against the likes of the Mitsubishi Xpander, Honda Mobilio, Suzuki Ertiga, and Toyota Innova.
During the G50's online launch, AC Industrials and Maxus Philippines CEO Arthur Tan said that this MPV will be the "game-changer for the brand within the country."
Maxus Philippines officially enters the MPV segment with the 2021 G50
The Maxus G50 measures 4,825mm long, 1,825mm wide, and 1,778mm tall along with a wheelbase of 2,800mm. With the said measurements, the G50 upends the Xpander, Mobilio, and Ertiga in terms of overall size. It also measures longer as compared to the Toyota Innova.
In terms of seating capacity, the Maxus G50 can accommodate up to eight individuals, which is a notch higher compared to the Mobilio and Ertiga that comes with a maximum room for seven passengers. As such, it seems that the Maxus G50’s overall dimension and maximum seating capacity are notable selling points that could challenge its segment rivals.

Design-wise, the Maxus G50 is integrated with distinctive styling that could compete with its competitors. It has a composed stance that’s complemented by sharp character lines and angular design finish.
The front of the G50 is fitted with automatic LED headlights that come with daytime running lights as well as a large bumper with chrome trims that give this eight-seater MPV a composed and aggressive demeanor. Moreover, the G50’s angular bumper comes with subtle fang-like chrome trims.

The Maxus G50 comes with sharp character lines
The side of the G50 is where you’ll see its sharp character lines that extend all the way to the rear. The vehicle sits on a set of 17-inch alloy wheels that further adds to the G50’s appealing design. You can also see that the G50 has a roof-mounted lip spoiler and roof rails. However, we can’t help but notice that the G50’s side shares a bit of similarity to a certain Japanese minivan.
This Roland Purple exterior paint will make the Maxus G50 stand out
The sharp styling continues to be seen at the G50’s rear as seen on the wraparound LED taillights and the bold bumper. It also comes with a Maxus emblem that’s placed below the chrome bar.
Of note, the Maxus G50 comes with a Roland Purple exterior paint, which could be a color scheme that others may find too loud. But the said paint will surely make the G50 stand out on the sea of Innovas, Xpanders, Ertigas, and so on.

That touchscreen is massive
Inside, the G50 comes with a dark interior theme, and placed right at the center of the dashboard is a 12.3-inch floating-type multimedia touchscreen. The massive touchscreen head unit handles communications, infotainment, and navigation. The G50 also comes with leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, and electric power steering.
In terms of tech, this MPV is equipped with a suite of driver-assist technologies including cruise control, wireless smartphone charging, power tailgate, and a 360-degree surround camera array.
The top-spec G50 trim is accompanied by a full complement of front, side, and curtain airbags. Of note, all variants of the Maxus G50 come with an electronic stability program, electronic parking brake, auto hold, reverse camera, and keyless entry and push start features.
The Maxus G50 is ready to go up against its segment rivals
Under the hood, all variants of the Maxus G50 is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that delivers 167 hp and 250 Nm of torque. The engine is connected to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission that sends power to the front wheels.
The G50 is available with seven exterior colors that include: Roland Purple, Polar Ash, Deep Golden, Warm White, Warm Argent, Metal Black, and Water Blue.
Maxus Philippines is offering the G50 in three variants with a starting price of Php 1,088,000 for the G50 1.5 Pro variant. The mid 1.5 Elite variant comes with a price tag of Php 1,168,000 while the top-spec Premium trim is priced at Php 1,288,000. The G50 also comes with a 5-year service warranty.
