The Toyota Camry was first introduced in 1982 as a compact car and was later developed to a midsize car in 1991. To celebrate the Toyota Camry’s 37 year run in the auto industry, the midsize sedan is getting a facelift and will be the first car to debut the Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+.

The Japanese automaker is offering an ambitious 17 different variants for the 2021 model – three V6 variants, five 4-cylinder FWD variants, five 4-cylinder AWD variants, and four hybrid variants.

As for the new Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+, the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD) has been further improved. Now, the PCS w/PD detects not only the vehicle ahead of the car but also a preceding cyclist in daytime and in low-light conditions.

It also detects oncoming vehicles or pedestrians in intersections when performing a left-hand turn and provides automatic braking.

The new Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ will help Camry drivers change lanes with confidence as it comes with Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA). These safety features detect and warn drivers whenever there are approaching vehicles that can inflict collisions.
