As the entire world’s economy buckles from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, many industries are adjusting in order to meet the needs of the current conditions. For the automotive industry, some car brands have started to streamline model lineups by discontinuing certain models in certain markets.
Like those brands, it appears that the luxury carmaker, Rolls-Royce, is making its adjustments with its impending launch of the next-generation Ghost.
The new Rolls-Royce Ghost will debut sometime in the third quarter of 2020, and it marks the 116th year of its continuous existence. As we’ve said, however, it appears that there will be some changes made to the Ghost to make it more viable in the present market conditions today.
The roofline of the upcoming Rolls-Royce Ghost
According to an open letter released by Rolls-Royce, it appears that the new Ghost will be minimalist in design. This of course was supported by the company’s Chief Executive Torster Muller-Otvos who said this about their clients:
“We found that these clients are showing a marked tendency towards luxury objects that celebrate reduction and restraint – that don’t shout, but rather, whisper.”
In the entirety of Rolls-Royce’s history, this will be the first time that such a shift will happen. But alas, the company will always continue driving forward, despite the fast looming, and numerous constraints of the global automotive market today.
Despite this, the upcoming Ghost will still exhibit “design purity,” and will be innovative, all the while eschewing “unnecessary embellishments and overt complication.” As such, we’re still certain that the minimalist design that the new Ghost will still be a sight to behold, and there’s also no doubt that the car will still have that characteristic Rolls-Royce grunt.
Yes, it looks like it will still be getting the brand's signature hood ornament.
After all, the company has found that many current Ghost owners actually like to drive the said model themselves, because a V12 will always be a hoot to drive in any shape or form be it a luxury car like the Ghost. For the latest automotive news, keep yourself updated here on Philkotse.com.
