Car companies like Isuzu Philippines joining the fight against COVID-19.

In the fight against the spread of COVID-19, numerous car companies here in the Philippines have already pitched in.

This includes Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC), which lent several D-Max, Isuzu Mu-X, and Isuzu modern PUVs for use as transportation for essential workers in Sta. Rosa, Laguna and Biñan, Laguna. This act of generosity was provided by the company several days ago on March 27.

As a follow-up, IPC lends additional vehicles, specifically one unit of the Isuzu NLR and an Isuzu QKR PUV. These were loaned to the Department of Transportation to service more frontliners in the fight against the novel coronavirus.

With these additional vehicles from Isuzu, DOTr’s free bus service is now able to service 19 routes in Luzon. Several days ago, the Luzon wide community quarantine was extended up to April 30.

The said ECQ still greatly affects that ability of many people especially frontliners in getting to where they need to go. As such, the additional Isuzu vehicles will vastly improve the free bus service’s ability to further address the need for transport in these trying times.

Isuzu dealerships also pitching in

In addition, Isuzu PH’s dealer network also made its own efforts to support the frontliners in their respective areas. Isuzu INTECO lent a QKR PUV to provide transportation for frontliners in Quezon City and City of Caloocan for free.

Isuzu-BMW, meanwhile, provided relief goods to nearby communities. Isuzu Iloilo also provided a D-Max unit to be used by their city hospital and fire rescue group.

In a statement, IPC President Hajime Koso said,

“With this additional vehicle support, we at IPC hope that our dedicated and enduring heroes of today would find comfort and safety in their transport. Through our vehicles, we can help them fight the virus more efficiently and effectively.”
