President Rodrigo Duterte approved the transition of Metro Manila from ECQ to general community quarantine (GCQ) starting from June 1, 2020. Areas like Region II, Region III, Region IV-A, Pangasinan, Albay, and Davao City are all included in the transition.
More motorists will now be allowed to move around Metro Manila under certain guidelines – which increases the risk of spreading the global COVID-19. This is why many establishments imposed new normal in order to cope with the transition.
One of which is the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, or MPTC. The toll operator encourages motorists to use the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) to practice social distancing since paying their fees on a toll gate can be a risk.
Plus, motorists will have a faster toll transaction if they use the RFID.
You can get your EasyTrip card via Lazada
MPTC has made EasyTrip RFID stickers so that motorists won’t be needing to visit an MPTC office to get RFID. These Stick-it-Yourself RFID stickers are now available to be ordered online by Class 1 motorists and be delivered directly to their doorsteps via leading online shopping apps and at the EasyTrip website.
Buyers would be required to pay for the initial Php 500 load to get started. Users of the EasyTrip card are reminded to specify their vehicle type and class while filling out the form.
The package comes with an RFID positioning guide, user guide, and EasyTrip card for convenient reloading. MPTC said that motorists can reload their EasyTrip card online at any time and any place.

With this initiative from the MPTC, the toll operator hopes that the motorists will have a safer drive and faster transaction within its toll gates to be able to accommodate the rush amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the general community quarantine.
