Porsche debuts the 2023 Macan T, the newest member of its high-performance luxury compact crossover line. The variant brings a slew of features that bring out its sportiness in both aesthetics and driving performance.
Dare forward: the new Porsche Macan T
Slotting between the standard Macan and the Macan S, the Macan T channels the spirit of the original Porsche 911 T launched in 1967. This allows it to join the ranks of the 911 and 718 as the first four-door model to bear the special designation.
Porsche says that the new Macan T (touring) variant brings a combination of precise tuning, exclusive equipment, and an efficient engine that results in an authentic driving experience. Dimensions include a length of 4,726 mm, width of 1,927 mm, and height of 1,606 mm on a 2,807mm wheelbase.
Design features rendered in Agate Grey Metallic help distinguish the Macan T from the rest of the range. These include the front trim, exterior mirrors, roof spoiler, and side blades that feature the Macan T logo. The vehicle rides on a set of 20-inch dark titanium alloy wheels. A total of 13 colors are available for the exterior.
Inside, the 2023 Macan T offers room for five with exclusive black leather upholstery, including headrests carrying the Porsche crest. A heated multi-function GT steering wheel is standard for drivers, accompanied by the Sport Chrono stopwatch on the dashboard.
Plush leather seats await occupants inside
The center console features a touch-sensitive surface, leading to the 10.9-inch touchscreen equipped with navigation and Porsche Communication Management (PCM). Safety features include lane departure warning, front and rear parking assist, and cruise control with speed limiter.
Powering the Macan T is a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine good for 261 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. Quick shifts are delivered by the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, working with Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel-drive. Accelerating from zero to 100 kilometers per hour takes only 6.4 seconds, with a top speed of 232 kilometers per hour.
The Porsche Macan T uses the same power unit as the standard Macan
The Macan T uses a specially tuned chassis that sits 15 mm lower to the ground, with a steel suspension system accompanied by Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM).
Pricing for the 2023 Porsche Macan T is estimated to start at AUD 91,500 (almost Php 3.4 million). The model is currently available to order, with German deliveries expected to commence by April 2022.
