This is for the second consecutive time.

According to the 2022 edition of the J.D. Power U.S. dependability study, the single most dependable model for last year in the United States is the Porsche 911. This is the second consecutive year the German-made sports car has attained this title. It is also the third time it has done so in the past four years.

As we’ve reported before, the most dependable brand in the same study is actually Kia. Specifically, it claimed the highest overall rating in vehicle dependability. Also in the top rankings is Hyundai, Toyota, Dodge, and Buick. Porsche as a brand also attained the second highest ranking within the premium segment.

Besides the Porsche 911, the study also declared the Mazda MX-5 Miata as the most dependable “compact sporty car”. The BMW 4-series is also the most dependable premium car for 2022, while the “midsize sporty car” segment’s highest ranked model is the Ford Mustang.

Of note, the Porsche 911 is now in its eight-generation. In the Philippine market, the said model is available in several variants. These include the Carrera 4, Carrera 4S, Targa 4, and Targa 4S trims. There are also the 911 Turbo models that come in the Turbo Cabriolet, Turbo, and Turbo S trims.

The most powerful of these is the 911 Turbo S model. This particular 911 uses a 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six gasoline engine that’s capable of making up to 640 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. It then uses the eight-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) gearbox, which sends power to all four of its wheels.

To conclude, people who are hankering for something fast and exciting, but are particular about car reliability might do well with Porsche 911. Porsche Philippines also sells that smaller but still exciting Porsche 718, the powerful but practical Cayenne midsize crossover, the Macan premium crossover, the fully electric Taycan, and the Panamera four-door luxury sedan.
