MG Motor has unveiled the mid-cycle update for the MG ZS – giving the crossover a sharper exterior design and improved interior features. It will consist of two variants, the Excite and Exclusive.

The new and refreshed 2020 MG ZS

The refreshed ZS will be equipped with a new and slimmer headlight design with LEDs. This comes standard to all variants. Other exterior updates are a new grille design that comes with a larger brand logo. The ZS Exclusive variant is also fitted with a new fog-light design, as well as a restyled lower grille.

At the back, the refreshed crossover will get a new rear light treatment. The rear bumper is also tweaked and it now comes with what the brand calls an “aluminum effect.” In addition, the ZS is fitted with redesigned 17-inch diamond-cut style alloy wheels, which completes the crossover’s refreshed appeal.

The interior, on the other hand, gets a substantial amount of updates. Starting off with the larger and improved 10.1-inch infotainment screen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

For the Exclusive variant, it comes with blind-spot monitoring, a rear-view camera with 360-degree surround-view monitoring, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, and a fully digital instrument panel.

Under the hood, the refreshed MG ZS still uses the same 1.5-liter gasoline engine capable of producing 106 hp and 141 Nm of torque. For now, the engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. MG says an automatic variant will follow eventually.

However, the brand has yet to announce when will the refreshed MG ZS for sale arrive in the Philippines. With that in mind, the local 5-seater crossover segment is looking to be exciting.

In case you didn’t know, Ford Philippines will rejoin the said segment with the Territory, a crossover that will be coming from China. It basically replaces the Ford Escape, and it will sit between the EcoSport and the Everest once it is offered locally.

The China-spec Ford Territory is powered by a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine that delivers 138 hp and 225 Nm of torque.
