Ford Philippines will be rejoining the crossover segment with the introduction of the all-new Territory in August. The Territory is set to replace the Escape, which had a short stint in the local market as Ford PH stopped selling the five-seater crossover SUV.
With that in mind, the overall size of the Territory is almost similar to the Escape. That gives you an idea that the soon to come Territory will be sitting between the EcoSport and the Everest.
You got that right, it is bigger than the Ford EcoSport but smaller than the Ford Everest. This explains that Ford PH wants to fill in the gap that the Escape uh, escaped from.
The Ford Territory will sit between the EcoSport and the Everest
The Territory is a five-seater crossover that is targeted to cater to individuals with a “modern lifestyle and needs,” according to Ford PH.
The company added that the Philippine market is the first market in Ford’s International Market Group (IMG,) composed of nearly 100 markets around the world, to offer the all-new Ford Territory.
“The all-new Ford Territory is designed to empower the modern Filipino driver who don’t want to compromise features, space, technology and versatility in their vehicle,” said Ford Philippines Managing Director PK Umashankar.
The China-spec Ford Territory is powered by a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine
There were reports earlier this year saying that the Territory crossover SUV that we’ll be getting will be sourced from China. It will be assembled in partnership with Jiangling Motors (JMC) and it is said that the Ford Territory is based on the Yusheng S330.
As such, the Ford Territory offered in China is powered by a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine that delivers 138 hp and 225 Nm of torque. The engine can be connected to a six-speed manual or to a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
In perspective, the China-spec Territory is packed with an additional 15 hp and a more powerful torque at 55 Nm when compared with the EcoSport’s 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine.

The Ford Territory has a straightforward interior layout
In terms of tech, the Ford Territory in China is equipped with a large 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, as well as, a fully digital instrument panel display, and Ford’s Co-Pilot 360 system.
The Co-Pilot 360 is a suite of driver-assist technologies that includes adaptive cruise control, pre-collision assist, forward collision warning, 360-degree camera, active park assist, among many others.
These features, however, may or may not transcend into the local market, but that's still yet to be seen.
