Ferrari is about to launch a special version (Versione Speciale) of the 812 on May 5. It is set to be the Italian automaker’s most powerful car that’s equipped with an internal combustion engine (ICE).

The Prancing Horse’s 812 VS is a spiced-up version of the 812 Superfast that comes with revamped vehicle components and a more powerful ICE. Ferrari said that the new vehicle will reflect the car brand’s concept of an extreme front-engined sports coupe. The Italian automaker added that the upcoming Ferrari 812 VS will come with numerous engineering solutions to guarantee notable driving pleasure.

The Ferrari 812 VS looks more aggressive as compared to the 812 Superfast. The official images shared by the automaker also give us the impression that the 812 VS is the sportier version of the two vehicles. One of the significant differences you can spot is the character lines of the two vehicles. The 812 VS is integrated with redesigned character lines as well as other aerodynamic components to optimize airflow and maximize downforce.

The 812 VS is equipped with larger front air intakes while the bumper is integrated with an aerodynamic fin. Move further up, you can see that the hood of the vehicle comes with a carbon fiber blade. Turning at the side, the Ferrari 812 VS features vents that are seen behind the front and rear wheels. The said design detail is not present in the 812 Superfast.

It comes with a different side profile

Another detail that makes the 812 VS stand out from the Superfast is its rear design. Ferrari opted to replace the glass rear screen seen on the Superfast with a single-piece aluminum structure. The new material is said to help improve the 812 VS’ aerodynamic efficiency. It also comes with a restyled bumper and a rear diffuser.

Fitted with a revamped bumper

Inside, the upcoming Ferrari has a similar interior layout that’s seen on the 812 Superfast. However, the door panel has been redesigned to reduce weight. The Ferrari 812 VS is also integrated with the car brand’s updated version of the Side Slip Control vehicle dynamics system.

The Ferrari 812 VS has a dark interior theme

The Ferrari 812 VS is powered by a V12 engine that delivers 830 hp at 9,500rpm. This is by far the most powerful ICE fitted to a road car by Ferrari. To put things in perspective, the 812 Superfast’s V12 engine puts out 789 hp at 8,500rpm.

The Ferrari 812 VS will make its virtual debut on May 5

More technical details and specifications will be revealed by Ferrari during the official launch of the 812 VS on May 5.
