Dodge has officially revealed the successor of the Charger muscle car. It is called the Dodge Charger Daytona, and the company showcases it as the world’s first and only fully electric muscle car.

So what is the all-electric 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Offering to buyers? Let’s go over its exterior, interior, onboard tech, and new electric vehicle (EV) powertrain to find out.
Exterior
According to Dodge, the all-new Charger Daytona carries over the muscle car DNA that made its predecessors stand out. This is clear to see with how it looks with its long muscular hood, its bulging wheel arches, and its unmistakable silhouette which just obviously took inspiration from the previous-gen Charger.
Its design is still pretty much in keeping with what defines a muscle car
The high-performance muscle car EV however, does get some modern design touches. For instance, its front end does not get a traditional grille. It does have a black-colored lower vent and a front lip, but its front fascia is pretty smooth save for the recessed rectangular design element which houses the car’s LED headlamps and LED daytime running light bar.
As mentioned, its sides sport large wheel arches that chalk up to an assertive widebody stance. Higher trims also ride on a set of 20-inch wheels wrapped in staggered Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 tires.

The Charger Daytona EV also gets the same sloping rear window leading to a tapered rear end that was present on the previous ICE version. To mirror the front of the car, this section gets a rectangular LED taillight and a black-colored rear bumper and diffuser.
Of note, this all-new high-performance EV model from Dodge gets two body styles. There’s a two-door coupe version and a four-door sedan version will be launched later in 2025. Likewise available is an optional full-length glossy black roof.
Interior
Inside, the Charger Daytona gets a driver-centric cockpit with all of its digital displaces positioned to face the driver. It likewise gets a layered instrument panel, and a center console reminiscent of the 1968 Dodge Charger.

At the most, the Charger can comfortably seat four, and all inside are kept comfortable by automatic climate controls. Likewise present inside this EV muscle car is a 64-color ambient lighting system which is responsive to user inputs such as opening the car’s doors, or when toggling the push-to-start button.
For the driver, this EV muscle car provides a heated flat-bottom steering wheel, a unique-looking pistol-grip shifter, and paddle shifters. The latter can be used to control various vehicle functions like regenerative braking and the new “PowerShot” feature which we’ll talk about later.
Standard seat materials for this EV model are fabric and leatherette. But if those aren’t plush enough, black Nappa leather and red Nappa leather options are also available. In addition, both front seats of this EV are bolstered sports seats, while the vehicle’s dash features stitching and plenty of soft-touch points.

In terms of cargo, the Dodge Charger Daytona has a maximum rear cargo capacity of 1,090 liters (rear seats folded down). An additional 42 liters is also available from the car’s “frunk.”
Tech & Safety
Providing onboard entertainment on the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona EV is a 12.3-inch central touchscreen that’s equipped with the Uconnect 5 infotainment system. The latter enables the display to provide wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, the ability to handle AI assistants like Alexa, as well as satellite radio.
Also present on this next-gen Charger is a wireless smartphone charging pad, as well as an optional 18-piece speaker Alpine speaker system.

The driver of the Charger Daytona EV meanwhile, gets a heads-up display (HUD) and 16-inch instrument cluster, depending on the variant. These are customizable and can be made to show navigation data, car data, and the status of the vehicle’s onboard features.
Speaking of data, the Track Package available for this Dodge EV muscle car provides a Drive Experience Recorder (DxR). This consists of a dashcam, a storage device, and a microphone and Dodge touts it as a racing tool used to monitor one’s performance on a drag strip or a circuit.
Handling safety for the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona EV are several advanced driver assist features. This includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, active lane management, active driving assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, blind spot detection, traffic sign recognition, and drowsy driver detection.

The vehicle can also detect vulnerable users like pedestrians and bicyclists. Also, Dodge has several optional safety bits for the model. This includes a 360-degree view camera, a 360-degree distance warning system, a turn signal active blind spot viewer, a parking-activated auxiliary camera that displays objects in front of the car, and a side camera for monitoring curbs.
Powertrain
Powering the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona EV has a 400-volt propulsion system. This is paired with an all-wheel drive system, and all together, Dodge says it can deliver “supercharged V8” levels of performance.
In its most powerful form, the Charge Daytona EV can output 670 horsepower, which is available on the Scat Pack trim. The lower-spec R/T trim meanwhile can generate 496 hp.
The Charger Daytona's batteries and its electric drive modules
As standard, the Charger Daytona R/T is expected to provide a range of more than 510 km. The more powerful Scat Pack trim meanwhile, has a shorter range of 418 km. Charging from 20 to 80 percent can be done in just 27 minutes when using a Level 3 DC CCS fast charger.
No exact torque figures were provided by the American carmaker, but being an EV, maximum torque will be accessible to a driver instantaneously. For further perspective, Dodge claims that this EV can do zero to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds, which is faster (3.5 seconds) than the 2023 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody–the most powerful V8 version of the previous-gen model.
With regards to how this EV can achieve the aforementioned zero to 100 km/h time, Dodge gave the new Charger the “PowerShot” feature which adds a temporary 15-second 40 hp boost. This, in turn, is achievable thanks to a 100.5 kW battery that features a peak discharge rate of 550 kW.
It gets a unique-looking gear shifter
Other bits that add to the Charger Daytona’s performance are a mechanical limited-slip differential, a launch control feature, a semi-active suspension system, a near-perfect 50:50 weight distribution, and several unique race models. The latter includes a drag, drift, track, and even a donut mode. These go on top of the standard drive modes like auto, eco, sport, and wet.
With the vehicle making big power, an optional set of high-performance brakes is also made available. These come from Brembo, and the set consists of 16-inch vented rotors, a six-piston front caliper, and a four-piston rear caliper.
The Charger Daytona, unlike most EV models, also gets a “chambered exhaust system.” This is made by a company called Fratzonic, and it uses passive radiators to create artificial sounds which Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis claims can make sounds as loud as modern-day supercharged V8 engines.
This EV model can come with a set of Brembo brakes and calipers
As expected, the North American market will be the first to receive the next-gen 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona EV. On top of that, Dodge will also release a high-performance hybrid version named the “Sixpack” which uses a 3.0-liter twin-turbo Hurricane straight-six engine.
For now, the coupe version of the Dodge Daytona EV will go on sale this year. The sedan version will then follow in 2025.
