The 2021 Subaru XV, also known as the Subaru Crosstrek in other markets, is now officially launched in the U.S., featuring more power, a new variant, and quite expected subtle design changes on its front end.
There will be four variants available for the 2021 XV, which includes the Base, Premium, Limited, and the new Sport trim that comes equipped with a 2.5-liter Boxer engine that delivers 182 hp.
The exterior of the 2021 XV looks almost similar to the previous model. The facelift design features a restyled grille as well as a tweaked bumper, which gives the 2021 XV a slightly more aggressive look as compared to its predecessor.
Subaru added that the ground clearance for the 2021 XV is at 221mm.

All of the variants except for the Sport trim comes with the similar XV design that we have grown accustomed to. Of note, Subaru gives the new 2021 XV Sport exclusive exterior design to make it stand out from the quadruplet variants.
The XV Sport is fitted with a different set of 17-inch alloy wheels that comes with a dark gray finish. Its front grille, side mirrors, and badges also look more stylish thanks to the gunmetal finish.
It doesn’t stop there, the 2021 XV Sport also has a more distinctive stance due to its wheel arch moldings, which is different from the rest of the quadruplets.

The 2021 Subaru XV Sport is ready to take on any terrain
Stepping inside, the Subaru XV 2021 features a black interior theme with orange stitching for the Base, Premium, and Limited variants. The XV Sport, on the other hand, comes with an exclusive StarTex upholstery that’s accented by yellow stitching seen throughout the cabin.
In addition, the steering wheel of the XV Sport also gets a touch of yellow. Of note, the XV Sport is the only variant equipped with the dual-function X-Mode, which features driving modes such as Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud. Other variants come with the standard X-Mode and Hill Descent Control.

The 2021 XV comes with various standard features which include the 6.5-inch infotainment touchscreen that’s compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
It is also integrated with a tilt and telescopic steering column, keyless entry, 60/40-split fold-down rear seat, among others. Subaru added that all Subaru XV equipped with Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) come with the brand’s EyeSight driver-assist tech.
The 2021 Subaru XV is a vehicle for people with an active lifestyle
The 2021 XV Sport and Limited are fitted with a 2.5-liter Boxer engine that’s connected to Subaru’s Lineartronic CVT, delivering 182 hp and 238 Nm of torque.
On the other hand, the Base and Premium trims get a 2.0-liter Boxer engine that produces 152 hp and 196 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to either a six-speed manual or CVT.
As of this writing, it’s unclear whether the 2021 XV Sport variant will reach the Philippine market. But, we’re sure that the facelift XV model is on its way.
We reached out to Subaru Philippines but its representative said that there isn't any definite timeline as to when will the 2021 XV arrives in the local market.
