Two of them replace previous choices while one is a new entry.

The cat’s out of the bag. After teasing what appeared to be a new model these past weeks, Volkswagen Philippines finally answered what all the fuss was about: new color choices for the T-Cross subcompact crossover.

The T-Cross in Makena Turquoise gives off a youthful vibe

Customers who might have gotten their hopes up in expecting another addition to the German automaker’s local lineup will instead have three fresh hues to pick from in case they’re eyeing the T-Cross. These are Makena Turquoise, Pure White, and Moonstone Grey.

The latter two replace the previously available Polar White and Chinchilla Gray, respectively, and all three colors join the current lineup comprising Syringa Violet, Tribu Yellow, and Romance Red. According to Volkswagen, the new color selection reinforces the T-Cross’ purpose of reflecting its customers’ “multi-faceted individuality.”

As for the rest of the vehicle, everything stays the same. Power still comes in the form of a 1.5-liter inline-4 gasoline engine that produces 109 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed Tiptronic automatic with Sport Mode to spin the front wheels.

Syringa Violet continues to be a head-turning hue

A choice of halogen or LED headlamps is available across two trim levels, along with daytime running lights, fog lamps, and a panoramic sunroof. Meanwhile, the interior can be had with leather and fabric upholstery on a two-tone palette to seat up to five occupants. Amenities include power windows, digital instrument cluster, 9.2-inch touchscreen head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay, and USB Type C charging ports.

Safety equipment include up to six airbags, ISOFix anchors, anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control, and hill hold control. These are joined by anti-slip regulation, rear camera, rear parking distance control, and an onboard tire pressure monitoring system.

Expect the same powertrain under the hood

It’s not exactly the best news to expect from the automaker, considering that the T-Cross is already updated in China where Philippine-spec units are sourced. Over at the mainland, the crossover is now equipped with a much more potent 1.4-liter turbocharged engine that brandishes 145 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Nevertheless, Volkswagen Philippines maintains that every new purchase of the T-Cross comes with a 100,000-km/3-year warranty coverage, free 24/7 Emergency Roadside Assistance, once-a-year PMS, and a 3-month buffer stock on parts, for what it’s worth.

If you’re curious about how the new T-Cross colors look like in the metal, you can check them out at all authorized Volkswagen Philippines dealers nationwide.
