As the Philippines transitions slowly from the enhanced community quarantine to the modified community quarantine, many automotive brands, specifically dealership operations are now re-opening, albeit with stringent health and safety rules.
One such brand that’s set to open is Subaru, which is distributed by Motor Image Pilipinas, Inc. (MIPI). The Japanese brand will re-open its dealership network in the National Capital Region (NCR) on Wednesday, May 20, 2020.
We sure miss gawking at STIs
For the rest of MIPI’s Subaru dealerships in other parts of the Philippines, those are scheduled to re-open on Monday, May 18, 2020.
Safety Protocols for Customer Safety
For Subaru, one of its top priorities when resuming its operations is the health and safety of its customers, visitors, as well as its employees.
As such, everyone entering Subaru-owned facilities will undergo mandatory temperature checks, as well as being required to don facemasks.
Persons with body temperatures at 37.5 degrees Celsius and above will be prohibited from entering said facilities and will be encouraged to seek medical attention.
On top of this, foot traffic will be limited in the said facilities, disinfection will be regular in major areas, customers entering Subaru showrooms will be limited to ensure social distancing, encouragement of cashless payments, and only three people will be allowed to ride a vehicle during test drives. The vehicles in the showroom, for test drives, and those being serviced will also be sanitized.
Social distancing is highly encouraged in Subaru PH's facilities
For after-sales services, Subaru asks its customers to schedule and to confirm their appointments via phone or through the company’s social media pages before sending in Subaru cars.
This is because customers are discouraged from waiting at service centers. Also, customers are advised not to bring along children.
Test Drive at Home
And speaking of test drives, Subaru also found a way for you to take a test drive in the convenience of your own home. All you have to do is register at Subaru.asia.
For your safety, all vehicles being used in this initiative are kept clean and sanitized. Also, note that the entire Subaru PH model lineup is available for test driving at home.

Aftersales Coverage Extension
Apart from the safety measures listed above, Subaru has also extended the periodic service maintenance schedules for customers who missed theirs during the length of the ECQ.
A 60-day grace period or 2,000 km, whichever comes first. Likewise, customers with warranty claims that have expired during the ECQ will be given a 60-day grace period. This warranty extension, however, will still be subject to validation.
If you have more queries, you can reach Subaru through its Facebook page, as well as its official website.
