You’ll never compromise safety with these ten cars.

When considering a car to purchase, one of the most important factors is its safety features. Most of you, after all, aren’t just buying a car for yourselves.

In order to provide consumers an overview of a car’s safety capabilities, organizations like the ASEAN New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) pits these models through its very specialized battery of tests.

These include testing for adult occupant protection and child occupant protection through various crash tests. The organization also takes stock of a car model’s available safety assist features. The results are then published on the official ASEAN NCAP website.

The currently available Toyota Corolla Altis also places high on the ASEAN NCAP’s board with a five-star safety rating and an overall score of 88.46 out of 100. Note that this was the second time the ASEAN NCAP assessed the Corolla Altis, and the first time was back in 2014.

7. Toyota Fortuner

Next up is the Toyota Fortuner, which is the only midsize, body-on-frame SUV on this list. Note also that the model ASEAN NCAP tested was the new facelifted version. That said, the Fortuner managed to acquire an overall score of 87.46.

Of note, the facelifted Hilux shares the same platform with the new Fortuner so it also got a five-star safety rating as well. It did however score a bit differently in the ASEAN NCAP’s specific safety categories, as such, it didn’t place in this top ten list.
