This is in celebration of the iconic sports car’s 60th anniversary.

Porsche is celebrating the 60th anniversary of the 911 this year. To mark this occasion, the German carmaker teamed up with Puma to release limited edition shoes inspired by the iconic 1972 911 S 2.5 and the modern 2024 911 S/T.

For the Puma Retro, it borrows the light blue color of the number 56 Porsche 911 S 2.5 which competed in the European GT Championship in 1972. Like the car, it gets a narrow and flat silhouette. It uses suede overlays, and a red-colored tongue to mimic the car’s red Gulf Oil livery. It even features the number “56” on its heel.

The other shoe, the Puma Heritage, is inspired by the look of the newer Porsche 911 S/T. It comes in a Shore Blue Metallic color, and the number “63” on its heel. The latter serves as a nod to 1963, the year the 911 was born. It has a slicker design compared to the Retro shoe, and it ditches suede in favor of a mostly smooth leather material.

For those unaware, the 2024 Porsche 911 S/T is a performance beast that uses the same flat-six engine as the 911 GT3 RS. At the most, it can make up to 517 horsepower which is plenty considering that it only weighs 1,380 kg. It also gets a short ratio six-speed manual gearbox, a lightened clutch, and a single-mass flywheel.

If you’re interested in the Porsche X Puma shoes, do be aware that they will be sold in limited numbers. The Retro sneaker will get a 1,972 production run, while only 1,963 pairs of the Heritage sneaker will be sold.

The selling period for these shoes will start on September 5 at the upcoming 2023 International Motor Show Germany. On September 6, it will also be presented as a pre-order from the official Porsche online shop. No prices for the Puma kicks were revealed ahead of its release.

Porsche is also yet to share whether these 911-inspired shoes will be sold in the ASEAN region. Puma though, does have an official online store for the Philippines so if you really want these, you can periodically check that site for announcements.
