The Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 is celebrating 50 years, a sports car deemed as the top performing 911 of its day. It is exclusively made available in the U.S. market with a price tag of $312,500 (or around Php 18.4 million). While this won’t arrive locally anytime soon, let’s see how the German automaker paid tribute to the iconic 911.

Exterior-wise, the Tribute package brings Python Green accents on top of the white paint. The Python Green accents are used on the side mirrors, decals on the massive spoiler and side profile, and wheels. Moreover, the standard Weissach package adds exposed carbon fiber elements, providing a sportier finish.

Moving to the interior, the green color motif is carried over. It is found on the steering wheel, dashboard, door panels, seats, and gear shifter surround. Other new interior bits include illuminated doorsill guards with a “Tribute to Carrera RS” script, a center console cover with the “RS” logo, and keys painted in white.

What’s more interesting are the non-car exclusives brought by the Tribute package such as a Porsche Design watch, custom license plate frames, a customer car cover, and a pair of 1:43 scale model cars (one 1973 Carrera RS and one replica of the new car). An NFT program is also part of the package, which can reward customers with digital badges.

The iconic Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 may be a superior car of its time but the new 911 GT3 RS is not one to be overlooked. Recently, the latter went to clock a 6:44.848-minute lap time at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, making it the fastest naturally-aspirated car to finish the track with its 518-horsepower 4.0-liter flat-6 engine.

Aside from the Tribute package, Porsche also celebrated the golden year of the 911 Carrera RS 2.7 with Tag Heuer by releasing two limited-edition timepieces. One is the Blue Edition finished in a finely polished steel case and the other is a more luxurious Red Edition cased by 18K 5N Rose Gold.
