It is available in Grand Prix White with either blue or red accents.

It has been 50 years since the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 came out of the German automaker’s production line. Inspired by the brand’s vision to create a road-legal car that can be used for racing, the RS 2.7 is the first to sport the Carrera name. This is also equipped with a rear spoiler commonly referred to as the ducktail.

To mark the model’s golden year, Tag Heuer Carrera released two timepieces. Based on the 27 vibrant colors made available on the RS 2.7, the watches are finished in Grand Prix White with either red or blue accents. Both these watches mirror the 42mm Tag Heuer Carrera chronograph.

The Blue Edition, dubbed as A Bolt From The Blue, comes in a finely polished steel case. Its details such as the hands evoke the sports car’s chrome door handles, mirrors, and window frames. Meanwhile, the ‘Paint the Streets Red’ Red Edition is cased by 18K 5N rose gold. This is also used for the crown, pushers, and back case.

Tag Heuer said that the watches are crafted to embody the Carrera spirit, which first came out in the Porsche 911 50 years ago. Lying in the heart of the sports car is a 2.7-liter 6-cylinder boxer engine capable of delivering 210 horsepower.

“The name and spirit of the Carrera are incredibly meaningful and emblematic for both Tag Heuer and Porsche,” said Tag Heuer CEO Frédéric Arnault. “So for the 50th anniversary of the very first 911 Carrera, the iconic RS 2.7, we wanted to create a tribute watch that would express the character and power of this ground-breaking sportscar within our own signature Tag Heuer Carrera Chronograph.
