Some toll roads operate at 50 percent only.

The Philippine government has imposed an enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) until April 4 in the hope to reduce the fast-growing numbers of the COVID-19. The ECQ has ordered many establishments to temporarily cease operations until the restriction is lifted.

Despite the on-going strict quarantine protocol, NLEX Corporation announced that its toll roads from the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) to Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) will continue to operate to serve motorists. However, some toll plazas such as in Bocaue and Mindanao will operate at 50 to 60 percent only to comply with the ECQ.

NLEX Corporation assured that it will comply with health and safety regulations

The NLEX Corporation has also coordinated with the Philippine National Police (PNP) to set up checkpoints for the monitoring process along the expressways. The company also assured motorists that all of its employees are following the health and safety protocols for safer toll transactions.

“We recognize the critical role of our company in providing vital infrastructure for the unimpeded flow of goods and services. Our team commits to comply with government guidelines and directives, and continue to protect our employees and motorists,” said J. Luigi L. Bautista, NLEX Corporation President and General Manager.

Since the ECQ was implemented within the Holy Week, the Metro Pacific Tollway Corporation (MPTC) has rolled out its seasonal motorists assistance program called “Safe Trip Mo Sagot Ko.” The said program provides more convenient aids to traveling motorists during the Holy Week such as deploying more personnel and setting up medical response teams.

Top-up before entering to avoid inconvenience

To make the transactions faster within NLEX Corporation’s toll roads, the company has encouraged motorists to use its RFID lanes instead of queuing up for cash lanes. NLEX Corporation has set up installation sites before the entrance of its toll roads ready to install Easytrip RFID stickers.

“Despite the challenging times, our team remains steadfast in providing round-the-clock assistance to our customers, government partners, and other stakeholders,” concluded J. Luigi L. Bautista.
