The Land Rover Defender is the 2021 Women World Car of the Year

"The Women's World Car of the Year is the only jury in the world made up entirely of women motoring journalists. This gives it enormous value because its decisions represent the liking and preferences of millions of women drivers around the globe,” Executive President of the Women's World Car of the Year Marta Garcia said.

The WWCOTY features three rounds of the voting process. The first round is to determine the three best cars in each category, taking into account models launched between January and December 2020.

The second round requires the jurors to name the best vehicle in each category in relation to its rivals in the same segment. The jurors will then filter and choose which vehicle is the best among the category winners. As such, the Land Rover Defender got the most votes to clinch the 2021 WWCOTY award. The Defender was deemed the best based on safety, performance, comfort, technology, and value for money.
