Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) is moving forward in the industry with Tetsuya Fujita as its new president.

The company had a change in its leadership role once again as outgoing IPC President Noboru Murakami took the position just last May 2022. Now that Fujita is at the helm, he will continue to grow the Japanese truck brand’s business network in the country.

Fujita comes in with an impressive track record, working for Isuzu Motors Limited (IML) since 1991. His international experiences include the following:

  • Corporate Planning Manager at Isuzu Truck of America (ICTA) in California, USA from 2005 to 2010
  • General Manager for Sales Department at Isuzu Motors International Operations Thailand (IMIT) in Bangkok, Thailand from 2014 to 2017.
  • Chairman and CEO at Isuzu Motors de Mexico from 2020 to 2021.

One of the biggest challenges of the new president is retaining the spot as the top truck brand in the country. IPC was recently recognized as the best-selling truck brand in 2022. What makes this more interesting is that the company has been doing this for 23 years in a row now.

Fujita will also expand the reach of its passenger car lineup consisting of the Isuzu D-Max and mu-X. The D-Max is a pickup truck that has been receiving several accolades including C! Magazine’s Pickup Truck of the Year last November 2022. Meanwhile, the Isuzu mu-X is the D-Max’s midsize SUV counterpart, offering a seven-seating cabin.

Apart from car sales, Fujita is tasked to march the IPC’s Road to Progress vision. Launched during the company’s 25th anniversary, the vision aims to realign its operations through a new perspective focusing on the “environment, social, and governance aspects.”

“As the leading truck brand in the country, we will continue innovating new products that will assist in the progress of the country while displaying more responsibility to the society and the environment through our Road to Progress vision,” said Fujita.
