The award was given after a series of comprehensive reviews and actual tests by the jury consisting of C! Magazine’s editorial team. With that being said, the Isuzu D-Max has won the aforementioned accolade for the second time in a row now, reflecting the quality and value that the pickup brings to the local market.
According to the jury, the strong points of the current third-gen D-Max are its more comfortable interior design and first-in-its-class advanced safety features.
Step inside the D-Max and you will be greeted by brown leather seats, giving a plush ambiance unique to the truck segment. The premium-looking brown materials can also be found on the door panels, center console, and dashboard. A 10.1-inch head unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto provides entertainment on the go.
The truck wins the title for the second consecutive year
As for the safety department, the Japanese pickup is equipped with Advanced Driver Assist System functions including Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and Lane Departure Warning, among others. The system uses the Smart Duo Cam, a 3D camera that constantly detects obstacles on the road.
In addition to the features mentioned, the jury also acknowledged other factors that make the D-Max a good buy. These factors include IPC’s accessible parts and excellent services; the versatility where the truck can be both a family vehicle and a business workhorse with its practical functions; and the brand’s drive to provide the best products to Filipinos.
The C! Awards is one of the many accolades the Isuzu D-Max received since the third-gen version came out in 2019. Others include Auto Focus’ 2021 Automobile of the Year award, 2021 Best Pickup Truck at the Business Vans Awards in the United Kingdom, and 2021 Best Workhorse Pick-Up from U.K.-based media agency Trade Van Driver.

The Isuzu D-Max 2023 is a 5-seater pickup truck that is available in several variants with various options for a 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrain. Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) is offering this truck at a price that ranges from Php 917,000 to Php 1,9055,000. There are two engine options powering the D-Max. One is a 1.9-liter RZ4E-TC inline-4 turbodiesel engine that makes 148 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, while the other is a 3.0-liter 4JJ3-TCX inline-4 turbodiesel engine that delivers 187 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. Either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission can be paired to the said engines.
In terms of dimensions, the D-Max spans 5,277 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,810 mm in height. It boasts a ground clearance rated at 240 mm, as well as a wheelbase of 3,125 mm. Some of the competitors of the Isuzu pickup truck in the Philippines are the Toyota Hilux, Nissan Navara, and Mazda BT-50.
