Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) has partnered up with SM Supermalls to establish a series of in-mall charging stations to promote the use of electric cars in the country. The two entities have already inaugurated their first-ever charging facility at the SM Mall of Asia.
The EV Charging Station is located at the third floor of the North Parking Building in SM MOA
For EV owners who want to use the new charging station, it is located on the third level of the North Parking Building in SM Mall Of Asia. It is compatible with fully electric models equipped with CCS Type 2 charger which is present on the Hyundai Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 5.
The charging station uses a Wallbox Pulsar Plus unit which is capable of outputting 7.4 kW. The facility has three EV charging bays, and it is free to use for mall-goers even if they aren’t driving a Hyundai EV.
According to HMPH, this is just one of the six stations it will put up with its mall partner. The brand’s forthcoming EV charging facilities will be located in other SM malls including SM City Cebu, SM City Clark, SM City Fairview, The Podium, and the SM Lanang Premier in Davao City.

He further added that “as an automaker, [Hyundai] has to be more proactive when responding to climate change compared to companies in other industries.”
SM Supermalls President Steven Tan also said that the company advocates for sustainability and ensuring the safety of its employees, customers, and adjacent communities. Tan added that SM Supermalls and HMPH have the same goals for sustainability and an emissions-free future.
