Following the preview of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 at the 2023 Manila International Auto Show last April, Hyundai Motor Philippines, Inc. (HMPH) has revealed more details about the electric vehicle (EV) including the price.
Hyundai Ioniq 6
Available in the sole GLS 2WD Long Range variant only, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 is joining the local EV market with a price tag of Php 3,798,000. It is now open for reservation at any existing certified Hyundai EV dealers including in Alabang, Commonwealth, Makati, Pampanga, and Pasig.
For the price, you get an all-electric midsize sedan that boasts a low drag coefficient of 0.21, hence the “electrified streamliner” moniker. The exterior comes with the brand’s signature Parametric Pixel LED head and rear lamps, active air flaps and air curtains, 20-inch alloy wheels, and flush-type door handles.
HMPH is offering the Ioniq 6 in eight colors, namely Abyss Black Pearl, Serenity White Pearl, Curated Silver Metallic, Gravity Gold Matte, Nocturne Gray Matte, Biophilic Blue Pearl, Digital Green Pearl, and Ultimate Red Metallic.
Interior of the Ioniq 6
Inside lies a unified screen panel consisting of a 12.3-inch digital cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. The latter supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth multi-connection of up to two devices. Other interior amenities include a heads-up display, 64-color ambient lighting, and a wireless charger.
Safety-wise, the EV is equipped with the Hyundai SmartSense, providing the latest advanced driving assistance system (ADAS) additions such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2, and Forward, Side, and Reverse Parking Collision-Avoid Assist.
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is offering prospective EV owners a range of 545 kilometers. Hyundai said it only takes 18 minutes to charge the model from 10 to 80 percent via a DC fast charger enabled by the EV’s 800-volt system. It also has the Virtual Engine Sound System (VESS) for notifying users of the charging status and the electric-Active Sound Design (e-ASD) for integrating Sci-Fi-like driving sounds.
It boasts a long wheelbase rated at 2,950mm
In addition to these features, each purchase comes with a five-year or 200,000 km vehicle warranty, an 8-year or 160,000 km battery warranty, and a free preventive maintenance service (PMS) for five years or 75,000 km. HMPH is also offering free home installation of the standard 7.4 kW AC wall charger.
“There’s really more than what meets the eye with the Hyundai Ioniq 6. It’s ‘Beyond Electric’, providing owners a more tailored and immersive driving experience,” said HMPH President Mr. Dong Wook Lee.
The electrified streamliner is now in the country
With the Hyundai Ioniq 6 made available for reservation, HMPH now has two EVs in the lineup. The other EV is the Ioniq 5, an electric compact crossover with a price that ranges from Php 3,068,000 to Php 3,698,000.
