Following the hat trick at the 2023 World Car Awards, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 bagged yet another prestigious accolade. This time, the electric midsize sedan won a ‘Gold’ award in the iF Design Award 2023’s Product category.
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 wins a Gold award at this year's iF Design Award
The iF Design Award jury praised the Ioniq 6 for its design, which not only looks distinct but is also streamlined. With this type of aerodynamic design, the Korean electric vehicle (EV) is capable of delivering an improved range, promising to reach up to 614 km. In fact, its drag coefficient of 0.21 is the lowest in Hyundai’s lineup, apart from being one of the lowest in the industry.
The Ioniq 6’s design likewise reflects the brand’s customer-centric commitment to “energy efficiency and environmental responsibility.”
In a statement, the jury commended the Ioniq 6 for “a fresh and unique exterior aesthetic with subtle motifs that are carried over into a serene and relaxing interior. Its overall design identity is based on deep commitments to comfort, style, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.”

“We are honored to be recognized as a lifestyle mobility brand that forges strong emotional connections between people and vehicles by bringing more value to our customer’s everyday life,” said SangYup Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of Hyundai Global Design Center.
“Our global design team has worked hand-in-hand with our engineers to inject passion and knowledge into every product, concept, venue, and interface, with the aim of sharing our brand’s values,” added Lee.
While the Hyundai Ioniq 6 continues to rack up accolades, Hyundai Motor Philippines, Inc. (HMPH) is preparing for the model’s local launch slated in mid-2023. It will join the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which is an all-electric compact crossover that will be slotted below the Ioniq 6.
