Competition is not easy as the Honda Civic is going up against a diverse roster of cars including four electric vehicles (EVs), namely the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Audi Q4 e-tron, Ford Mustang Mach-E, and Kia EV6. The other five finalists are the Toyota GR86 (alongside the Subaru BRZ), Lexus NX, Genesis G70, Hyundai Tucson, and Cupra Formentor.
With an initial list that started with 28 vehicles, the car that will come out at the top will be replacing the reigning champion which is the 2021 Volkswagen ID.4. A total of 102 jurors from 33 countries will decide who is the worthy winner of this year’s WCOTY by secret ballot.
