Ford Philippines will likely launch the 2020 F-150 on June 24.

The local pickup truck segment is looking to be more exciting as Ford Philippines teased the arrival of the 2020 F-150, and it is set to debut next week.

Ford PH sent us an email invitation where it says that it will be launching a new vehicle soon that’s “Big, Bad, and Bold.”

Well, upon a second look at the email, we saw the F-150 peeking behind the big, bad, and bold lettering. You just can't miss those signature headlamps of the massive pickup truck.

Peek-a-boo!

As such, the email invite is a dead giveaway from Ford PH, and hinted us that the F-150 is indeed on its way to make its local debut. To put things in perspective, the F-150 is a pickup truck that’s bigger than the Ranger.

It is a full-size truck that measures 5,893mm long, 2,032mm wide, and 1,918mm tall. The Ford Ranger, on the other hand, is a midsize truck that measures 5,354mm long, 1,860mm wide, and 1,821mm tall. Overall, that’s a size difference of 539mm in length, 172mm in width, and 97mm in height.

The 2020 F-150 that’s offered globally has a wide range of engine options such as a 3.0-liter V6 diesel, a 5.0-liter V8, a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, among others. The EcoBoost powered F-150 delivers the most powerful output with 450 hp and 691 Nm of torque.

Look at all that muscle

However, we think that Ford PH will be offering the F-150 that’s equipped with the 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine that generates 250 hp and 596 Nm of torque.

We think that it is the most suitable option in the Philippine market, considering the fuel prices and the traffic conditions in Metro Manila.

In other markets, the 2020 F-150 has the following variants: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum and Limited, and Raptor. As such, we think that Ford PH will initially offer the XL and XLT variants and could (fingers crossed) offer the Raptor version of the F-150 later on. Well, that will matter on how the local market receives the F-150.

Ford Philippines will be launching the 2020 F-150 on June 24, and you can watch the public online launch on its Facebook page at 5:00 p.m. You'll get the information about the truck from us before that, though, so make sure to keep us in tab.
