In the wake of Typhoon Ulysses and the floods it brought with it, many barangays in the provinces of Cagayan and Isabela were left reeling. To address this, many organizations have stepped up to lend some help. One of those organizations is the Club Xpander Philippines.
In this particular relief effort, members based in the affected provinces received donations from members based in Metro Manila. They then repacked the said donations and distributed it to several hard-hit areas. The most affected however was the municipality of Sta. Maria in Isabela Province.

Last November, CXP members organized a relief drive for Sta. Maria. The group was able to provide food items and varied goods with a total worth of Php 60,000. These goods were donated and delivered by CXP members themselves.
As to what the group donated, they managed to deliver goods such as canned sardines, tuna, instant noodles, coffee, sacks of rice, as well as clothing. These goods were carried on CXP member-owned Xpanders as well as support trucks. Of course, it helped that the Mitsubishi-made MPV is cavernous enough to fit in a lot of relief goods.

In case you’re wondering, the Xpander comes with a total of 1,632 liters of cargo space if the second and third row seats are folded. Moreover, the Mitsubishi Xpander features 225mm of ground clearance. It is also equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine that delivers 105 hp and 141 Nm of torque.
In appreciation of this effort, the mayor of Sta. Maria, Hilario Paguitan awarded the club a certificate of appreciation.
The relief mission further proves the capabilities of the Xpander
The CXP was supposedly scheduled to celebrate its second Christmas Charity Fun Run to Subic. When the typhoon hit, the club immediately responded to the call for help instead.
The founder of CXP Jimmy Virador said:
“We realize that Club Xpander Philippines is more than just a car club or a group. We are a family that practices camaraderie, values and brotherhood. As demonstrated by our members’ efforts, CXP is a car club that truly cares.”
CXP as an organization is already two years old and going strong. It is made out of people from different backgrounds, who were brought together by their ownership, and collective interest in the practical, but very attractive looking Mitsubishi Xpander.
