Honda Thailand launched a new Civic Hatchback at the 41st Bangkok International Motor Show, and it definitely looks mesmerizing.   

To live up to the RS badge, the new Honda Civic Hatchback comes with various sporty exterior features such as new front grille, twin exhaust tubes at the back, and a revamped rear bumper that comes with a distinctive design.

Honda Thailand is offering five color options for the new Civic Hatchback namely, sonic gray, red rally, platinum white, modern steel gray, and black crystal.

Inside the Honda Civic, a 7-inch touch screen audio system that supports Apple CarPlay is used. The interior is finished with piano black with red stitching that helps give off a sporty aesthetics. The gauge digital display is also added with a sporty touch.

Under the hood, the Honda Civic RS Hatchback comes with a 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo engine that is capable of producing 173 hp and 220 Nm of torque.

Honda said that the engine will produce greater power than expected without costing too much fuel thanks to its turbocharged compressed air system. The engine is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) which helps further enhance fuel efficiency, according to Honda.

The Honda LaneWatch camera

As for safety, the Honda Civic RS Hatchback comes with Honda LaneWatch. This is a camera placed on the far side mirror of the driver that helps drivers when switching lanes. The feed is displayed on the hatchback’s 7-inch screen.

Other safety features include collision mitigation braking system, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane-keeping assist system, rear departure mitigation system with lane departure warning, and auto high-beam.

The Thailand-spec Honda Civic RS Hatchback is priced at 1,229,000 Thai Baht (around Php 1.9 million, excluding applicable taxes here). Currently, Honda Cars Philippines is offering the Honda Civic with a starting price of Php 1,115,000 and goes up to Php 1,608,000 for the RS variant.
