Are you prepared to say goodbye to this muscle car?

The sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro will be discontinued in 2024. This comes after its nine-year-long stint in the market.

The axing of the Camaro was announced by the bowtie brand, which further stated that the last Camaro unit will roll off from its Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant in Michigan in January 2024.

With that said Chevrolet has yet to announce an immediate successor for the popular muscle car. According to Global Chevrolet President Scott Bell, however, “this is not the end of Camaro’s story.”

The American carmaker likewise announced the upcoming release of the Collector’s Edition Packages for the 2024 model year Camaro SS, RS, and a limited number of ZL1 trims. The brand considers this as a final hurrah of sorts for the 6th-generation Camaro. Not much is known about these yet, but it was indicated that they would be made available for the North American market in 2024.

Note that the US-spec Camaro ZL1, specifically with the 1LE optional Extreme Track Performance package, is the fastest street-legal version of this muscle car on the General Motors Milford Road Course.

At a maximum, the US-spec Camaro ZL1 1LE’s 6.2-liter V8 can produce up to 650 horsepower. It is available with a six-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission, and it gets a set of Brembo brakes, and a carbon-fiber rear spoiler, among others.

For the Philippine market, the Chevrolet Camaro comes standard with a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine outputting 275 horsepower and 398 Nm of torque. It exclusively uses an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
