It can now accommodate up to seven passengers.

Jeep has virtually launched the all-new 2021 Grand Cherokee. The American car brand is excited to introduce the fifth-generation of the midsize SUV as it comes with numerous and ambitious updates including the addition of a third row, the first for the model.

The Grand Cherokee has been a partner by many families in making memories since 1992. With that being said, Jeep wanted to provide more space by extending its wheelbase by 175 mm and offering a six or seven seating configuration. A two-row Grand Cherokee will also be available later in 2021.

The all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee

The design of the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee L was inspired by the brand’s first full-size luxury SUV, the Wagoneer. It comes with new design cues for more modern aesthetics such as all-new slim LED headlights, larger front fascia, high-set LED taillamps, and active grille shutters for better aerodynamics.

There are many features that made the Jeep Grand Cherokee one of the most popular SUV in history. One of which is its award-winning 4x4 capability. So for the new fifth-gen, Jeep decided to further enhance the midsize SUV’s 4x4 capabilities by improving the Quadra-Lift air suspension system for increased ground clearance and wading depth.

The next-gen Grand Cherokee L is also installed with a newly located front virtual ball joint and a multi-link rear suspension for improved lateral control and better ride comfort.

Inside, Jeep is continuing the reputation of the Grand Cherokee of being an award winner in terms of interior luxury. The seats are finished in premium hand-wrapped, quilted Palermo leather for comfort and luxury. The interior is also complemented with a 10.1-inch infotainment system with a more advanced Uconnect5 system and an all-new customizable LED lighting with daytime/nighttime settings for all models.

Jeep solidifies the Grand Cherokee's family vehicle characteristic

Under the hood, the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee L is still equipped with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine capable of making 290 hp and 348 Nm of torque. This engine is optimized to provide the best balance of performance and fuel efficiency.

On the other hand, the 5.7-liter V8 engine is also available for increased performance. The said engine is capable of making 357 hp and 529 Nm of torque.

Jeep did a great job in continuing the legacy of the Grand Cherokee

The all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee L will arrive in Jeep dealerships in the US market in the second quarter of 2021. Meanwhile, the second-row version and electrified version called the 4xe will be available later in 2021. Unfortunately, Jeep Philippines already discontinued selling the Grand Cherokee in the country so we will not see the all-new model on Philippine roads anytime soon.
