Jeep Grand Cherokee Philippines Overview

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is a series of award-winning midsize premium Sports Utility Vehicles of the Jeep brand, built to conquer any road. It flaunts a mighty exterior finely designed with bold detailings, innovative features, and a mighty stance. Inside, it is packed with the latest driver and passenger amenities meant to provide an outstanding and consistent riding experience. The new Jeep Grand Cherokee is available in the following variants: the Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit, the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, and the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk. Also, the legendary American carmaker offers the special edition Jeep Grand Cherokee Upland, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited X, and the Jeep Grand Cherokee High Altitude. The series is offered in Bright White, Velvet Red Pearl, Redline Red 2-coat Pearl, Slate Blue, Granite Crystal Metallic, and Ultraviolet Metallic.

Launch

The first-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee was introduced in 1992. Back then, it was offered in three variants powered by a 190 horsepower 4.0-liter engine from American Motors Corporation. It was mated with a four-speed automatic or manual transmission.

The second generation was revealed in 1998 complete with a revamped exterior, a more fuel-efficient engine, and a four-wheel-drive option named the Quadra-Drive.

The third-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee was launched at the New York International Auto Show in 2004 equipped with an upgraded engine and internal modifications. The SUV’s fourth and current generation was previewed again at the New York Auto Show. Jeep retained its signature styling but fitted the SUV with the latest innovations.

In the Philippines, the Jeep Grand Cherokee was introduced in 2019 by its local and official distributor Auto Nation Group.

Exterior

The new Jeep Grand Cherokee measures 4,821mm long, 2,154mm wide, and 1,760mm tall. It carries the distinct sophisticated and rugged vibe its predecessor possessed throughout the years. Exterior highlights include the chrome-colored bold seven-slot grille, a pair of HID headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, fog lamps, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, body-colored lip moldings, shark antenna, and claddings. It is also fitted with LED taillights, rear fog lamps, dual rear exhaust, a power liftgate, a full-size spare tire, and more. To complete its unbeatable road presence, the Jeep Grand Cherokee wears a set of 18- to 20-inch polished aluminum wheels.

Interior

The luxury extends inside the Jeep Grand Cherokee as it is fitted with notable interior such as the leather-wrapped seats, steering wheel, and instrument panel, gunmetal accents, seven-inch full-colored display center, LED interior lighting, auxiliary power outlets for charging, and more.

Technology & Safety Features

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is fitted with the Uconnect 4C NAV multimedia center for reliable on-time assistance and entertainment.

In terms of safety, it is built with adaptive cruise control with stop, forward collision warning with active braking, parallel and perpendicular park assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection, lane departure warning, electronic stability control, a secure airbag system, rear park assist, and more.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee utilizes the Quadra-Lift Air suspension that provides smooth on-road handling and assists the SUV’s overall efficiency. Its braking power is aided by Brembo high-performance brake system.

Engine & Drivetrain

The Jeep Grand Cherokee offers three engine options: a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, a 6.4 SRT V8 engine, and a 6.2-liter Supercharged V8 engine. All are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission guaranteed to emit 295 to 707 horsepower.
