The Hyundai Palisade makes a quiet return to the Philippine market for the 2023 model year, bringing exterior and interior upgrades as well as a sticker price of Php 3.78 million.
2023 is the Hyundai Palisade's comeback year in the Philippine market
Customers are not likely to find the refreshed midsize SUV in showrooms as it is only available through indent order. The facelifted Palisade premiered at the 2022 New York International Auto Show and is set to compete against the likes of the Ford Explorer and Mazda CX-9 in the large crossover segment.
"HMPH actually soft-launched this model back in October of last year and we are glad to say that it has been well-received," said Victor Vela, Hyundai Motor Philippines General Manager for Sales. "Although we acknowledge that it is still being sold at a limited capacity for now, rest assured that we are continuously finding ways to accommodate the local market's needs and demands."
Exterior
The most noticeable upgrade to the new Palisade is on the fascia, where it now sports the dark chrome parametric shield cascading grille that’s wider in size compared to the previous version. This terminates at the upper corners where the turn signal lamps are cleverly disguised.

LED headlamps are arranged in a vertical layout, accompanied by large daytime running lights. The turn signal repeaters mounted on the side mirrors give out a distinctive lighting signature when deployed, accompanied by puddle lamps. Chrome bits continue to outline the greenhouse right up to the C-pillar.
New 20-inch alloy wheels are standard
Out back, the new Palisade comes with a smart tailgate surrounded by full LED rear combination lamps. The restyled rear bumper now has the fog lamps relocated towards the center, along with revised exhaust tips. The new Palisade rides on redesigned 20-inch alloy wheels at the corners. Five exterior colors are on offer: Abyss Black Pearl, Moonlight Blue Pearl, Creamy White Pearl, Graphite Gray Metallic, and Sierra Burgundy Pearl.
Interior
A revised cockpit awaits drivers inside the 2023 Palisade, with sleeker vents for the automatic climate control on the dashboard. The steering wheel has been redesigned as well, and front occupants benefit from new seats that feature 8-way power adjustment and memory settings.
The new Palisade retains the three-row seat layout complete with second-row captain's seats
Three-row seating is standard, with customers able to choose between black and burgundy leather upholstery. Access to the rearmost seats is via a smart one-touch walk-in button. Meanwhile, the second row has captain’s seats complete with heating and ventilation functions.
Tech & Safety
In lieu of physical gauges, the new Palisade comes with a 12.3-inch display for the instrument panel. This is accompanied by another 12.3-inch touchscreen monitor for the head unit, while the center console has a wireless charging pad for compatible handsets.
A 360-degree surround view monitor helps minimize blind spots
Safety is part of the new Palisade’s assets as well, with features such as six airbags, back-up guide lamps, rear occupant alert, safe exit assist, and parking distance warning. These are complemented by a multi-collision brake system and a 360-degree surround view monitor.
Engine & Drivetrain
The new Palisade retains the 2.2-liter common-rail direct injection diesel engine with variable geometry turbo under the hood, rated at 190 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque.
Drivers can confidently tackle multiple road conditions with the terrain selector dial
An 8-speed shift-by-wire automatic transmission works with HTRAC all-wheel-drive in transferring the output to the four wheels, with a multi-terrain control dial allowing users to adapt to various road conditions.
