With the distributorship of Hyundai vehicles in the Philippines now placed in the hands of South Korea’s Hyundai Motor Company, the local dealership network will undergo a transition as well. Such is the case with one of its branches along Commonwealth Ave., Quezon City.
Hyundai Commonwealth is among the dealerships undergoing a transition
For one thing, the current passenger car lineup has been pared down to just one model: the Accent subcompact sedan offered exclusively in diesel trim, which carries a price tag of Php 1,038,000. This is consistent with earlier reports that the truck, bus, and commercial vehicle range will be handled by the Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI), while passenger cars will be placed directly under Hyundai Motor Philippines, Inc. (HMPH).
According to Bonie Cu, Hyundai Commonwealth Sales Manager, the final lineup of models for the Philippine market will be decided this month, pending the outcome of a dealer conference scheduled for 2:00 p.m. today at Okada Manila. Hyundai Commonwealth sales executive Mena Retuya said that a refreshed model lineup comprising the new-generation Tucson, Santa Fe, Staria, and Creta is expected to arrive by July or August. No information on variants and pricing has been provided in the meantime.

There are several things that remain the same for the outlet, though. The branch, located along one of Quezon City’s busiest thoroughfares, is still under the auspices of Prince Motor Corporation. Cu says the 4,000-sqm. showroom can accommodate up to 10 models on display. The 40-strong team of sales executives is still ready to attend to potential buyers.
More importantly, Cu adds that the dealership is still actively providing aftersales service to existing Hyundai customers through the transition, especially when it comes to honoring vehicle warranties.

HMPH officially takes over the Philippine distribution role on July 1, 2022, under its new president, Lee Dong Wook. A Filipino managing director will be appointed, and the company will be headquartered in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.
