Together with the change in management, the said brand has brought in the facelifted Peugeot 5008 seven-seater crossover for the local market. The model is now sourced from Malaysia, and it gets a revamped exterior look, a better equipped interior, and even more safety equipment.

Exterior

On the outside, the biggest change for the facelifted 2022 Peugeot 5008 is found on the front. New is the frameless radiator grille, as well as the “illuminated fang” daytime running lights which flow down towards the bottom of the front fascia.

The rear of the model also received a new set of LED taillights that now come with a three-claw lighting element. These lights are then covered with a transparent smoke finish, and their integrated turn signals are sequential.

The updated 5008 rides on a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels.

Interior

Like the previous version, the new 5008 is still a seven-seater. It offers a fully adjustable second row, and all seats can be folded down for more cargo. Speaking of which, Peugeot claims that the updated 5008 can carry up to 780 liters. Folded down, its cargo space can accommodate up to 1,980 liters.

This facelifted crossover also provides a push-to-start button, power-adjustable front seats, a power tailgate, LED ambient lighting, and a new steering-wheel that now has paddle shifters. Keeping its occupants cool is a dual-zone automatic climate control system with rear vents.

It also has plenty of soft touch surfaces, and the seats and some of the said touch points are clad in leather.

Tech and Safety

As mentioned, the 2022 Peugeot 5008 gets a bunch of new tech for more convenience, and for better safety.

Starting with the toys, this model now features a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, wireless phone charging, and ambient lighting.

It also received a 10-inch touchscreen head unit which is of course larger than the outgoing model’s 8-inch head unit. For connectivity, the said touchscreen comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Moving on to safety, the new 5008 for the 2022 model year now comes with an Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) including lane-keep assist, blind spot detection, and driver attention alert, among others.

Meanwhile, its standard safety kit includes six airbags, anti-lock braking with electronic brake-force distribution, front and rear parking sensors, hill-start and hill-descent control, stability control, traction control, a reverse camera, as well as tire pressure monitoring.

Engine and Performance

Under the hood of the 2022 Peugeot 5008 is a turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-4 engine. At maximum, this four-banger can make up to 162 horsepower and 245 Nm of torque.
