The MG GT is a five-seater compact sedan. In the Philippine market, it has two variants. There’s the entry-level GT Alpha priced at Php 938,888, and the GT Sport which retails at Php 1,098,888.
Size-wise, the MG GT is 4,675mm long, 1,842mm wide, and 1,480mm in height. It then has a wheelbase length of 2,680mm.
Under the hood of the MG GT is a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that can produce up to 158 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to its front wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Locally, the MG GT rivals the GAC Empow, the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla Altis, among others.
Launch
The MG GT was initially launched at the 2020 Beijing Auto Show. It was then introduced locally in February 2023. It has two variants available. The MG GT Alpha priced at Php 1,015,888, and the MG GT Sport which retails at Php 1,098,888.
Exterior
The MG GT is a stylish sedan that gets an aggressive front fascia, and a swept-back rear end. Present on this model are LED headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, and LED taillights.
Also available are a pair of power-folding side mirrors, a boneless wiper, and an automatic on/off function for its headlamps.
Interior
Up to five can fit inside the GT model. Keeping everyone comfortable inside the said sedan are leather seats, and an automatic air-conditioning system.
The driver likewise gets a push-to-start button, a power adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, as well as a seven-inch instrument cluster surrounded by “Virtual Cluster.”
The roof the GT Sport also has an electronic sunroof.

Engine
Propelling the MG GT is a 1.5-liter turbo engine that’s capable of making up to 158 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to its front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
Chassis
For suspensions, the MG GT uses a MacPherson strut for the front, and a torsion beam for the rear. It then gets disc brakes for all four wheels, and well as an electronic parking brake.
